SAM HARRIS AND THE VATICAN

This is an excerpt from an article by Sam Harris concerning the sex abuse scandals in the Church. I do agree with most of what he says regarding religion but totally disagree with his "objective morality" bs. I will post on that soon.

"But there was always more to this phenomenon that should have compelled my attention. Consider the ludicrous ideology that made it possible: The Catholic Church has spent two millennia demonizing human sexuality to a degree unmatched by any other institution, declaring the most basic, healthy, mature, and consensual behaviors taboo. Indeed, this organization still opposes the use of contraception, preferring, instead, that the poorest people on earth be blessed with the largest families and the shortest lives. As a consequence of this hallowed and incorrigible stupidity, the Church has condemned generations of decent people to shame and hypocrisy -- or to Neolithic fecundity, poverty, and death by AIDS. Add to this inhumanity the artifice of cloistered celibacy, and you now have an institution -- one of the wealthiest on earth -- that preferentially attracts pederasts, pedophiles, and sexual sadists into its ranks, promotes them to positions of authority, and grants them privileged access to children. Finally, consider that vast numbers of children will be born out of wedlock, and their unwed mothers vilified, wherever Church teaching holds sway -- leading boys and girls by the thousands to be abandoned to Church-run orphanages only to be raped and terrorized by the clergy. Here, in this ghoulish machinery set to whirling through the ages by the opposing winds of shame and sadism, we mortals can finally glimpse how strangely perfect are the ways of the Lord."

POPE BENEDICT WANTS NEW WORLD ORDER?

Add under this picture, "Do I have a new World Order for you, hehe!"

The following statement was made by Vatican, "The pope today called for a "profoundly new way" of organizing global finance and business, calling for a new social and ethical dimension to capitalism and arguing the case for a new world political authority to help champion "the common good". http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/07/pope-capitalism-abortion

The economy, he said, was marked by "grave deviations and failures" – an area of life "where the pernicious effects of sin are evident".

"The conviction that the economy must be autonomous, that it must be shielded from "influences" of a moral character, has led man to abuse the economic process in a thoroughly destructive way," the pope said. "In the long term, these convictions have led to economic, social and political systems that trample upon personal and social freedom, and are therefore unable to deliver the justice that they promise."

Then, the Pope goes on to talk about birth control:

"Some parts of the world still experience practices of demographic control, on part of governments that often promote contraception and even go so far as to impose abortion. In economically developed countries, legislation contrary to life is widespread and it has already shaped moral attitudes and praxis, contributing to the spread of an anti-birth mentality; frequent attempts are made to export this mentality to other states as if it were a form of cultural progress."

He went further in his condemnation of contraception by claiming that it was forced on impoverished communities.

I cannot help but wonder you this "new world political authority" would be? Would they impose some kind of ethical standard on nations and businesses and whose ethics would they be?

How can you complain about population control in a world where millions are starving and people have no jobs. Overpopulation is a major issue. If there is to be any kind of future for humanity we must control population-there are already too many people. Of course the countries with the most population growth are poor nations whose people are subject to such idiocy as religious dogma. In developed nations, the more educated have moved away from such dogma so the real agenda here is to make more Catholics.

These types of issues are raised in WAKING GOD and THE SACRED ROTA.

The following was posted on one one of my blogs:

"Ceremony of Induction and extreme oath of the Jesuits,

You have been taught to insidiously plant the seeds of

jealousy and hatred between communities, provinces

and states that were at peace, and incite them to

deeds of blood, involving them in war with each other,

and to create revolutions and civil wars in countries

that were independent and prosperous, cultivating the

arts and the sciences and enjoying the blessings of

peace. To take sides with the combatants and to act

secretly in concert with your brother Jesuit, who might

be engaged on the other side, but openly opposed to

that with which you might be connected, only that the

Church might be the gainer in the end, in the conditions

fixed in the treaties for peace and that the end

justifies the means."

POPE, MUSLIMS, ISRAEL AND...

I AM SURE MOST HAVE HEARD THIS STORY BUT IT IS WORTH REPEATING. RELIGION ONCE AGAIN REARS ITS UGLY HEAD and turns a blind eye. Look at the world today and you can rest its turmoil and chaos at the feet of organized religions. And even the large corporations and bankers conduct their activities with the blessings of churches, mosques and synagogues-if that were not so, why are they not denouncing the greed that has caused our economic crisis?

By BRADLEY S. KLAPPER and ALEXANDER G. HIGGINS, Associated Press Writers Bradley S. Klapper And Alexander G. Higgins, Associated Press Writers – 2 hrs 12 mins ago

"GENEVA – A day after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad caused an uproar with a speech attacking Israel at a U.N. conference on racism, the U.N. said Tuesday that Ahmadinejad had actually dropped language from the speech that described the Holocaust as "ambiguous and dubious."

The U.N. and the Iranian Mission in Geneva did not comment on why the change was made. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, however, said he had met with the Iranian president before his speech Monday and reminded him the U.N. had adopted resolutions "to revoke the equation of Zionism with racism and to reaffirm the historical facts of the Holocaust."

Ahmadinejad may have decided to drop the Holocaust phrase that was in his original text to deliver his condemnation of Israel in a more palatable fashion for many countries.

Still, Ahmadinejad's accusation that the West used the Holocaust as a "pretext" for aggression against Palestinians still provoked walkouts by delegates including every European Union country in attendance. But others, including those from the Vatican, stayed in the room because they said he stopped short of denying the Holocaust.

The walkout came after Ahmadinejad accused Western nations of complicity in violence against Palestinians surrounding the foundation of Israel.

The original text of his speech said "following World War II, they resorted to military aggression to make an entire nation homeless on the pretext of Jewish sufferings and the ambiguous and dubious question of Holocaust."

U.N. spokeswoman Marie Heuze said U.N. officials had checked back with the interpreters and the Farsi recording of Ahmadinejad's speech, and determined that the Iranian president had dropped the terms "ambiguous and dubious," referring instead in Farsi to "the abuse of the question of the Holocaust."

Adding to the confusion, the live English translation of the speech did not mention the word "Holocaust" at all, while the French stayed true to the spoken words of Ahmadinejad. The English translator apparently was following the prepared text and stopped speaking when the Iranian president changed the wording.

The meeting turned chaotic from the start when two protesters in rainbow wigs tossed red clown noses at Ahmadinejad as he began his speech with a Muslim prayer. A Jewish student group from France said it had been trying to convey "the masquerade that this conference represents."

Thirteen people who disrupted the speech were expelled from the conference Tuesday.

The United States and eight other Western countries had already boycotted the event that started on the eve of Israel's Holocaust Remembrance Day, because of concerns Muslim countries would drown out all other issues with calls to denounce Israel and restrict free speech when it comes to criticizing Islam."

RETURN OF THE DARK AGES-POPE CONDEMNS WITCHCRAFT

LUANDA, Angola – "Pope Benedict XVI appealed to the Catholics of Angola on Saturday to reach out to and convert believers in witchcraft who feel threatened by "spirits" and "evil powers" of sorcery.

In Africa, some churchgoing Catholics also follow traditional animist religions and consult medicine men and diviners who are condemned by the church. People accused of sorcery or of being possessed by evil powers sometimes are killed by fearful mobs.

Benedict counseled Catholics to "live peacefully" with animists and other nonbelievers and urged Angolans to be the "new missionaries" to bring people who believe in sorcery to Christ." (AP)

So here is the deal, the Pope wants to get rid of the old religions and convert the Africans to Catholics. Does this sound familiar? Has not this always been the problem of organized religion? There is no desire to respect and live side-by-side with others of different beliefs. One cannot help but wonder who is burning and murdering those who are "filled with evil?" Christians, maybe? Why are medicine men and diviners condemned by the Church? Do you not think that inflames murder? The WAKING GOD books explain the problems of organized religion and why they serve to divide people, stir enmity and promote violence. This is a return to the Dark Age thinking. Actually, the Church has never really left the Dark Ages. Fundamental Protestants, Muslims, Hindus and Catholics seek to make everyone like them, regardless of the cost. As we move closer to 2012, adherents to these outdated ideas are becoming more violent. They are losing their grip on society, as well they should, but are also reverting to witch hunts to silence those who dissent. Want to know why many have problems using the Law of Attraction to better their lives, just read religious headlines.
