Chapter 21: In the limousine, ANDREW has an amazing dream in which he sees ADAM as a being reflecting all the parts of the universe. The vehicle suddenly comes to a screeching halt, and he finds himself pounding on the back window as he watches a stranger quickly lead MARA down the street under a hail of gunfire.

Chapter 22: ANDREW is taken to a beautiful white stone villa where, to his own shock, he meets MANTRELLA in the flesh.

Chapter 23: Barely recovered from the shock, ANDREW and MANTRELLA talk, and the silver-eyed host relates to the young professor the falsity of religious movements, and touches every nerve in ANDREW’s body with his “dime store theology.” Becoming angry, ANDREW stands to confront MANTRELLA.

Chapter 24: MANTRELLA morphs into a vision of Baphomet, both terrifying and subduing ANDREW. Through further conversation, ANDREW comes to understand that the biblical ADAM is sleeping. We are his dream, existing in and of it. When ADAM comes to realize his own existence through his physical birth into the world of mankind, humanity will move onto the next spiritual plane. He and MARA are god-bloods and the chosen parents of ADAM. The Archangel MICHAEL is noted as the main power that desires to keep ADAM from being born. Finally, ANDREW is briefly shown how the Major Arcana of the Tarot holds the hidden truth of this revelation.

Chapter 25: Escorted by MOLOC, a Dog of Isis, or werewolf, and NILAIHAH, a vie-pyre, ANDREW leaves for Poland on a mission to find MARA. MOLOC and NILAIHAH are partners, each of them representing half of the nature of duality, and are also Watchers, the “troops” of MANTRELLA. Sometime into the trip, the car is intercepted and ANDREW is stolen from his protectors. He awakes in a helicopter surrounded by men in fatigues.

Chapter 26: MARA finds herself in a castle. She discovers that the man who took her from the town and delivered her to safety is called MICHAEL. MICHAEL tells her that MANTRELLA, the man responsible for kidnapping her, is the devil, and that he posed as all the silver-eyed men in her past. Lastly, to her mounting disbelief, he explains how she has been moved all around the world every three years, and that she has been marked as a daughter of the Messiah. He pledges to protect her.

Chapter 27: ANDREW arrives via helicopter at Malbork Castle in Poland.

Chapter 28: MARA begins to have glimpses of who she is, and she comes to identify her grandfather from Boston, as well as ANDREW, as the enemy. MICHAEL receives ANDREW and the professor is held prisoner in the castle for a number of weeks. He and MARA are allowed to meet for brief periods of time, and ANDREW comes to suspect that MICHEAL, who supervises every meeting, is mocking him and showcasing his hold over the distraught girl. In various meetings with the host, ANDREW and MICHAEL converse about the nature of the universe and the apparent lies of MANTRELLA. ANDREW begins to believe that MANTRELLA has told him the truth and that MICHAEL is a maniacal Archangel hell bent on preserving his power in the universe. One morning, ANDREW awakes to find his usually locked bedroom door ajar, and he hurries to MARA’s room hoping to convince her to escape with him. With MARA at his side, he rushes through the castle looking for an escape route, but is drawn to a set of oak doors engulfed in light.

Chapter 29: ANDREW has overheard MICHAEL’s plan to further subdue humanity, and in anger he bursts into the room. If ADAM is allowed to be born, the angels will lose their place in the universe and will subsequently become obsolete. But before ANDREW is allowed to have a full-scale confrontation with the Archangel, MANTRELLA’s Watchers infiltrate the castle grounds, and a violent battle ensues. MICHAEL disappears with MARA.

Chapter 30: ANDREW is reunited with MOLOC and NILAIHAH.

Chapter 11: ANDREW goes through many stages of training with NEVYN only to finally end up with a well-behaved, loyal dog. He begins to realize that the dog seems to have a sense of what is happening in ANDREW’s dreams, and takes certain action when the visions are about to come.

Chapter 12: An Earthwire News article expresses tension in Rome as Pope PETER II intends to reveal “secrets” of the papacy to all the faithful in an effort to begin his Reconstruction of Faith mission. His Cardinals are outraged. In an airport in ROME, WOOLGRAB, frustrated with the news, curses a newscaster and then storms out of the building.

Chapter 13: MARA, twenty-one and now living in Boston, is convinced by her friend WANDA to attend a psychic meeting. ELI and his wife JEN have tricked ANDREW into attending the same meeting. ANDREW finds himself having to sit next to MARA, a woman that he is suddenly struck by, though no words pass between them. As the meeting starts, ANDREW closes his eyes and has a vision of he and MARA standing on opposite cliffs as Atlantis crumbles. He hears the woman’s name and he realizes that he has known her since the beginning of time. ANDREW wakes to find MARA gone. In fact, she has fallen in the street and has disappeared again.

Chapter 14: WOOLGRAB enters the Vatican unobstructed, and assassinates Pope PETER.

Chapter 15: ANDREW learns through the Boston Globe that the PETER has been assassinated. Returning home, NEVYN leads him to a FedEx envelope that arrived earlier, containing a letter demanding his immediate presence in Rome, as well as a one-way plane ticket.

Chapter 16: MARA awakes in an extravagant, vaulting bedroom in an Italian villa. She is devastated and races out onto the balcony in an attempt to escape. A maid enters and attempts to calm her. The maid dresses MARA and assures her that the man of the house will explain everything to her.

Chapter 17: On flight 180 from Boston’s Logan Airport to Rome, ANDREW receives a strangely familiar phone number from a stewardess, then watches the news and absorbs the various conspiracy theories developing over PETER’s murder. In an Italian prison, an insane WOOLGRAB marvels at the irony of his ironclad kingdom and kills himself crucifixion-style with a bedspring.

Chapter 18: Reverend Jay J. DOOLEY appears as a crazed, right wing apologist for WOOLGRAB, on the Skip WHALEN show. He is ultimately heckled off the set by the audience and mocking host.

Chapter 19: ANDREW arrives at the airport and suddenly realizes that the phone number given to him by the stewardess is, in fact, ELI’s number. He is confused and anxious.

Chapter 20: ANDREW is taken from the airport in a limousine driven by a hulking black man and his alluring, white-skinned female partner. MARA is led by the maid through a spacious corridor with gold-framed images of the Tarot hanging on the walls. The pictures are somehow familiar to her, but she does not really know what they are. Her mind is assaulted with hundreds of exploding visions relating back to all the lives she’s lived since her theft from the hospital. In terror, she gets away from the maid and escapes from the villa. She ends up in a town where two men pursue her, and where she is finally intercepted by a man who pledges to protect her. As the two head for cover, the men begin to shoot at them.

PART I: WAKING GOD BOOK I CHAPTER SUMMARIES

Chapter-by-Chapter Summary

Prologue: This is the presentation of a dream-state in which ADAM—blind, naked, and defenseless—stumbles to the edge of a murmuring brook and falls fast asleep. The scene shifts to a man in the present day waking with the words of his dream still echoing in his head. He finally gets out of bed and writes what he can remember about his dream in a journal. He needs to find some way to understand why the dreams keep happening and what in God’s name they have to do with him.

Chapter 1: In the laboratory of a hospital, a technician has just received the DNA results of a test he was ordered to run by a mysterious, silver-eyed man bearing the hospital administrator’s personal seal. He quickly calls the findings in to the man and is commanded to send the proof to the front desk in a sealed envelope. Nine floors above in the maternity ward, men in black suits attempt to steal a newborn infant named MARA from her mother’s arms, but the baby is taken instead by a pair of men in trench coats. Two of the black suits pursue the trench coats as the third stops in the doorway to attend to the distraught mother. She begs him to find her baby and he assures her that all will be made right. Then he withdraws a 9mm from his coat and shoots her in the forehead. Outside, the two in trench coats have made it to a clearing on the other side of the parking lot:

Racing through the parking lot, the baby robbers far outmaneuvered their two assailants as they wove around the parked cars and made their way to the clearing on the other side. Realizing their disadvantage, the black suits halted and withdrew their pistols. Bullets exploded into the night, tearing through the mist. But the pair with the baby was undaunted. Once at the grassy edge of the clearing, their bodies lurched forward as they began to morph into wolves. Now on four legs, their claws dug into the cold earth, propelling them on with such force that to be pierced by the futile intentions of a bullet was almost comical.
The wolf in the lead gripped the swaddled package between his fangs, careful not to harm the newborn life within, and disappeared into the night. Halfway across the clearing, the other stopped and threw back his feral head in a terrifying howl, as if to mock the two still in the parking lot firing wildly at targets they could no longer see.

Chapter 2: The main character, ANDREW, has just finished a bowl of Cheerios and a National Geographic article on strange happenings in Brazil. Unimpressed and somewhat amused, he heads to the foyer to get his coat. But on the way, a sudden, intense headache drives him into the cushions of the couch, and he experiences a vision of a baby being carried away by wolves.

Chapter 3: Reverend Victor M. WOOLGRAB is introduced as the glitzy shepherd of the ultra-modern New Life Evangelical Church. The greasy born-again is ushered to a limousine idling in the parking lot on a rainy night during the witching hour in order to meet with a stranger masked in the darkness of the cabin. After subtly insulting the eager minister, the stranger promises WOOLGRAB an ironclad kingdom, then—
The Reverend felt a hand on his shoulder, heavy and clamping, then his blood slowed and the sound of his heart beat vaguely in his ears. He was getting drowsy, unable to resist the complete feeling of relaxation. And the orders reverberated in his brain: Seven days…nine o’clock flight to Rome…car waiting with everything needed to do it…in and out…Swiss bank account…iron-clad kingdom….

Chapter 4: From the pulpit of New Life Evangelical Church, WOOLGRAB is hotly absorbed in a tirade about the “devil,” who he suggests is the Pope of the Catholic Church. His entranced flock clutches at their hearts, calls out in praise to their powerful shepherd, and damns the blasphemers that WOOLGRAB emphatically names. Meanwhile, outside O’Neill Library on the campus of Boston College, ANDREW listens to the prophetic words of a vagrant that has stumbled into the square. When he and the old man finally make eye contact for an unsettling moment, ANDREW believes that the vagrant mouths the words, You will believe. Unnerved, ANDREW makes his way to his morning class.

Chapter 5: It is learned that ANDREW is a professor of comparative religious studies at Boston College. He begins to deliver the last lecture of the spring semester to his graduate students, dealing with what he calls “precipitating events.” After offering the students some examples of precipitating events, he asks the bombshell question: What is the precipitating event that caused mankind to create God? Baffled, only a single student dares to claim that the professor has the notion backwards. Crushing the student’s apparent ignorance of what he believes is truth, ANDREW soon hurries out of the lecture hall at the conclusion of the class, unwilling to entertain the groupies heading for the podium with dozens of questions.

Chapter 6: MARA is nine-years-old and with her silver-eyed stepfather at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. She has grown into a Middle Eastern beauty with long black hair and brilliant green eyes. The two soon leave the castle and drive to their private jet waiting on a reserved airstrip. As her father turns the Audi onto the asphalt, his head slams into the headrest and blood showers the windshield. MARA screams as the car careens across the runway and smashes into a hanger. The police arrive to find the car engulfed in flames. Forty minutes later two steaming bodies are pulled from the wreckage. But miles away, MARA has already been carried onto a different private jet that now soars high above Europe.

Chapter 7: ANDREW returns to his apartment later that night and struggles with the mixed emotions of the morning’s lecture. He is, and always has been, obsessed with finding a unified theory of religion. He believes that somewhere there is evidence, or at least insight into the ultimate truth of the universe and all of existence. In the throes of another headache, he sits in his recliner and falls asleep. He finds himself having a surreal conversation with a voice in his head calling itself MANTRELLA. He is given a series of names by which MANTRELLA is also known then abruptly awakes. He soon realizes that not only has he experienced another strange dream, but also that this time while sleeping he automatically recorded the list of names on a legal pad.

Chapter 8: MARA is living in Sri Lanka. She has collapsed on her bed with her nose bleeding, body wracked in pain, and brain ravaged by a migraine. She has a vision of an angel impregnating Mary then the girl’s limp body is found by a farmhand in an Indiana crop circle. MARA’s silver-eyed grandfather arrives and instructs the farmhand to bring her up to the house.

Chapter 9: ELI, ANDREW’s newly married ex-roommate, has revealed to his best friend the necessity for ANDREW, now living alone, to get a dog. At first, ANDREW refuses the idea, but is then reluctantly ushered away to a Salem animal shelter where he adopts a brown and white wolfhound that he names NEVYN. Later, ANDREW suddenly awakes from a dream and discovers that he has automatically written again, this time two separate pieces of conversation. One conversation deals with someone reprimanding “Blue Eyes” for impregnating a virgin girl. The other involves MANTRELLA speaking to ADAM about a woman and the Awakening. The conversation ends with the words: Andrew…prepare for Rome!

Chapter 10: It is MARA’s eighteen birthday party on an Indiana farm, and her silver-eyed grandfather has just arrived with a present that he playfully refuses to give her. Later, when all the guests have left, she begs the old man for the present and he finally gives in, telling her to take the box up to her bedroom to open it. She complies and races upstairs, where she collapses again and disappears.

2012: HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE APOCALYPSE

The first thing to do is not to panic. There will be no destruction of the entire planet and no rapture with billions left behind. However, if you at followed the news in 2011 and extend those events more dramatically into 2012, you will have a sense of what may happen in the coming months. Economies can’t rebound anymore as they are based upon false premises and the lies are rapidly catching up with themselves. As for climate change, we haven’t seen anything yet. Food production is becoming a major global issue as well as the supply of portable water. Those who have not been affected by a major and devastating storm have no clue what millions of others have experienced; their own personal Armageddon. Prophecies aside, these events have and will continue at an accelerated rate. More of this will occur in 2012.

Fear is your worst enemy in any crisis situation. In fact, fear will be the cause, as it has in the past, of much that will happen this coming year. You know yourself, wake up in a bad mood and the day is downhill from there. Wake up refreshed and happy and the day goes great. Now picture billions of people in a bad and fearful mood and …, well, you get the picture. Keep in mind, the inverse of this is also true. When things get bad enough, the latent power of the collective individual rises up and shakes off the chains that bind. It is just unfortunate that humanity lets things get so bad before it acts. So step one, stay calm and don’t buy into the fear. Like attracts like and if you get caught up in the frenzy, you may not get out.

Be prepared is step two. This does not mean put more money into savings, plan better for retirement and change your investment strategies. If the economy is in shambles, none of that matters. When we were hit by Hurricane Irene, we lost power for a week. We have a small generator to run basic appliances but it’s not big enough for the water pump. However, we always keep many gallons of water in storage. When most people plan for storms they think of drinking water, but do you know how water it takes to flush a toilet? We also have back up propane cook stoves and a sensible stock of canned and dried foods. Just knowing that you can weather a storm or other calamity reduces your fear factor. My advice is to keep enough stock on hand to get through a major disaster. What you may need will depend on your location, but if you are caught off guard, you may be in trouble. This is just common sense. And while you may think you aren’t in an area prone to weather/climate disasters, earthquakes can happen almost anywhere and most of your supplies come from areas that are prone to disasters. As far as cash and coin are concerned, having some on hand is not a bad thing, but in all likelihood, your skills or your things may be more important than money for a period of time. I am not trying to preach survivalist skills here but it never hurts to have dried/canned beans, rice, canned meats, PB, canned veggies, baking soda/powder, flour and fruit on hand. Also, if you have pets, they will also have needs. If in a cold climate can you get by if the furnace is out? Can you cook if no power? Do you have a medical emergency kit? Again, all common sense.

While you may manage to keep life and limb together with proper precautions, that is not the real issue in 2012. Sure, you want yourself and loved to be alive, but the band aid never cures the cut. In keeping with the concept in the “Matrix,” we are a virus on the planet. Like a cancer, we are killing our host: Earth. However, she’s a big girl and she will be around long after we’re gone as will other forms of life. We really are at a point, and somewhat past it, where each must choose how we will heal ourselves and the reality we created. So how does one avoid the worst? Here are some steps to take now:

1)Can’t say this enough: No Fear, No Panic. Either just attracts more of the same and can manifest in your life in many negative ways.
2)Set your intentions. If you don’t believe in the Law of Attraction, you are in trouble. Sorry, but you do create your reality and you are responsible for that reality. No finger pointing unless you’re looking in the mirror. Just humor me for these few short months and pretend that all is your life is your creation. Consider this an experiment that will not result in any negative consequence, but which may very well get you through the 2012 can throw at you. Every day, see yourself and those you love as safe, abundant, prosperous, filled with love, free of any ailment, immune to any negative events and protected and nurtured by a loving Universe that is ‘not out to get you.’
3)Act when guided. If an inner voice, intuition, gut feeling says to do something, DO IT! If it’s a move, job change, a change in habit or routine, an urge to visit or call someone, a desire to fulfill a dream, DO IT! When guided into action and you fail to act, the little voice get softer and softer. Listening to that urge, that voice, may well keep you safe and prosperous.
4)Be open to new ideas and ways of looking at the world. As we have all seen, fiction has often become reality. Be prepared to reject old ways of thinking, old paradigms and embrace new concepts. We have all been the victims of memes, cultural thought viruses that make us think we are powerless, there is no hope, and we don’t matter. Well, tell that to those who created the Arab Spring. Tell that to banks who have abandoned some new fees because people rose up. Tell that to the scientists and astronomers who are shaking the foundation of all previous thought. You not only do make a difference, you are the difference. The more that you accept that anything is possible, the more anything ‘is’ possible.
5)Participate by being in, but not of, this world. Number 4 is more of a personal step. This is more public. It doesn’t mean you have to hit the streets in protest, but it does mean that now is the time to make your intentions and feelings known to the world; help build a new meme, paradigm. Remember, you don’t want to be against something; that just adds more power to what you are against. What are you for? If you are reading this, you are on the internet. Are you for a better environment? Do you want clean and natural food for you and your children? Do you support clean energy, an end to pollution, peace, helping the poor, homeless, the hungry? Now is the time to promote and share your feelings. By being public about how you really feel, you are telling the Universe that you are serious about what you want. Form follows thought. What you focus on will attract the same. Actions can create results, inaction usually results in failure. Be in the world, but not of it. Don’t get emotionally caught up in headlines. But, if you don’t know the train is coming, you may not get off the tracks in time.
6)This may be a tough one for many, but there is no one who will save you. Just as you cannot blame anyone else for any troubles you may have, neither can you expect that someone or some thing is going to come along and get you out of any mess you may have created. You are responsible for your life; every last bit of it. You do not need saving. As a character in the Waking God Trilogy says, “It’s not about saving humanity, it never has been.” Get over the religious guilt trip; you are not evil by birth and in need of some kind of salvation. That is a cop out and the worn out dogma no longer serves you. You choose, every moment of your life, what the next moment will bring. If it were otherwise, you would just be a puppet on a string being played by some egotistical deity who just loves to torture its creation. And, if the aliens should come, they are probably not coming to save you either. Create you vision with all your heart and soul and miracles will be yours.

If you doubt any of these steps, I encourage you to do some research. Read some basic information on quantum physics. There is a lot out there that is not too technical and is easily understood. Look at what is really happening in medical research and discover the power of the mind to heal. Regardless of your politics, understand that ‘something’ is going on with the human spirit. From the Occupy movements to the Arab Spring, protests in Russia to the mass migration away from religious dogma, ‘something’ is happening. Read about climate change, look at the data, and see what is happening in the environment to plant and wildlife. Something big is going on. The ball is rolling down the hill and nothing will stop it. But, you do not have to be run over. You can choose to be out of the way and ensure that the ball never makes it to the top of the hill again. It is all happening now, now later!

Dear Friends,

Have a Joyous and Happy New Year! You are all so divine, and I appreciate you all so much in my life, as does the Sisterhood of the Shields. We all love you and are grateful for your commitment to this healing work and your own wonderful spirits!

2012 is a year of awakening. So much has been said about 2012 as a time of cataclysm, the "ending of time," and the ending of the world as we know it. Certainly, I have before never seen so many movies and images of disaster. I think this is both unfortunate and fortunate, in a way. It does make us aware of 2012, and it makes us pay more attention to the grave problems our planet faces.

2012, however, 2012 has meaning, a very specific meaning, and that meaning is the awakening to higher frequencies of mind and heart.

This awakening, to me, means that we must now become the host, the host of the Great Spirit or the higher awareness of divinity, whoever the God being is to each of you. You become the host to that divinity, and when you do, the sense of Great Spirit, the sense of eternal life and beauty comes to you as a guest. So often, this beauty – this consciousness of Divine love – knocks on the doors to our perception, but we don’t open the doors. We’re absent to our guest; we're not even alert to the fact that this – right now – is a time of exquisite possibilities.

When you become host to the Great Spirit, Great Spirit does not become aggressive in your life. Rather, it enters as a soundless beauty, a beauty of stillness within your being. We often notice the beauty in nature, but how often do you actually hear the whisper of joy? When you become host to the Great Spirit, you realize that you are automatically alert to all of the beauty that is around you, that you had often not been able to see or hear before.

Now is the time to seize ability to see things like never before. This is what, to me, the true meaning of "2012" really is, that we can now see with a sensitivity that is unique, if that is our choice. It's like we are being offered a new computer chip or even a brand new computer, if only we will say, "Yes!" to a conscious awareness of the presence of the Great Spirit Within us. And, unless you are very aware, you are going to miss the footsteps of the Great Spirit reaching all around you.

To become a host of the Great Spirit is to become a host of new possibilities, a host of the fullness of your heart and of the space within you where power can live, if you will only open the door. This is a time of power, and when I say power, I mean, it’s a time of taking your power and realizing your dream. You absolutely must define your dream, as I’ve said so many times.

If you could, imagine this as a truth, that the Great Dreamer is awakening, and the dream he has been dreaming for us disintegrates as he awakens. Now is the time we must each create our own dream. At last, we have the opportunity to become responsible, truly and absolutely, for the reality that we create.

And I send you this message because I understand the importance and the depth of what becoming the host really means. You may ask, “Where in all of the chaos, the stress, and the joy that I am feeling, where is the Great Spirit? Where is the presence of higher consciousness, and how in the world do I become the host in the first place?”

The answer is simple. You have already become the host in a really knowledgeable way if you have studied and grown your light in one way or another. And that is something you have all done; that is why you have chosen to receive this mailing. So, in other words, “When the host is ready, the party is given.”

In many ways, that is what we’re experiencing, whether we choose to recognize it, or not. This New Year is a celebration of all possibility, not of destruction. In a way, you can say that when a new piece of art is created, something had to be destroyed for it to come into existence, and that is the truth. But maybe, just maybe, in leaving behind what no longer serves you, you begin to realize that you are the disciple, and you are ready, and the presence of Divine energy welcomes you. And you create a feast together! You create a feast of the possibilities that are ahead of you, and as you do, the possibilities of light on this Mother Earth expand. You see her incredible sacredness and you see the paradise that will be created, so that each of us has a glowing, luminous dream that is beautiful and new.

As the morning light walks in the land, I think of you, Great Spirit, of the way you have illuminated the dark corners of my soul. Morning light, as you awaken the plants and glisten off the pine needles of these great trees, I hear you coming, Great Spirit. The birds sing their welcome and speak of your presence among us. In a blaze of splendor and golden light, you warm our lives. As the forest comes to life, I, too, am quickened, Great Spirit. I see you in the morning light, and my soul is filled with your beauty. WHY WE NEED THE 2012 APOCALYPSE

Yes, humanity actually needs an apocalypse in 2012. All of the great avatars and prophets and cultures, Nostradamus, Casey, the Hopi, Mayans, St. John, DaVinci, and so many others, have told us that we are traveling the wrong way on a one way street. We know that environmental stress causes evolution; basically, adapt or die. The erroneous notion is, however, that evolution is a slow process. We now know that this is not always the case and that evolution can be almost instantaneous. Flip a few genes on and the species as you know it is transformed. We also know that that the term apocalypse means ‘revelation.’ Certainly, humanity is in need of revelation.

Will 2012 bring death and destruction? Well, yes, and no. Are we talking the end of the world? No. But we may be talking about an even increased series of the kind of events we saw in 2011. Climate chaos, economic meltdown, political turmoil, further radicalization of religious dogma, both human and naturally caused environmental calamity, even larger scale fish, bird, wildlife deaths, and surprises yet to be seen are all in the prophetic cards. The tempo has been building and people have been duped and too blind to see the signs of the times. We already have climate refugees. In many parts of the world, water is a scarce commodity. Increasing glacial melt is changing sea levels and possibly ocean currents. Massive fish, bird and other wildlife die offs are increasing. There have been record numbers of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The melting, CO2 filled Tundra’s is another wild card. The Apocalypse is here now for those with eyes to see.

Here’s the thing, for some reason humanity epitomizes Newton’s law that bodies at rest, tend to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. We only change when confronted by crisis. Otherwise, we stay “comfortably numb.” Even when all the facts are laid out before us, our reaction is usually, “Oh, okay, whatever.” But if the grocery store is empty, the enemy is at our doorstep, or the sky is actually falling, then we catalyze into action. When the disaster is upon us, we act. The key question is, “Can we always act in time to prevent total disaster?”

Memes, cultural viruses of the mind, have been the leading cause in slowing human evolution. What you do won’t make a difference. The problem is too big. You’re vote doesn’t count. God likes poor people. We need to collect billions of dollars and waste them on building absurd edifices to please God. You are all basically sinners and since you must be saved, you must follow this religious dogma. It’s always been this way and always will be. Only evil people are wealthy and they will be punished. One race is superior to another. Everything will be okay, it’s not really dangerous. You can’t cure diseases with the power of the mind. Your lot in life is the luck of the draw, live with it. We don’t have anything to do with climate change. Species die off all of the time. This is just a normal cycle. We’re too big to fail. Buy this and save. Don’t tax the rich, it will hurt the economy. Drill baby, drill. All of these viruses have been so toxic; most in the world feel helpless. And yet, for thousands of years, the mystics have told us, “No, you have the power. You create the reality.” And now, quantum physics is telling those who listen that the mystics are right. The observed and the observer are one. Life in interconnected, entangled, and each event is related and affects all events. Medical science is showing us that prostate cancer and memory loss can be cured by either turning on or off genes. Basically, new paradigms are being created and old ones are being replaced.

But, timing is everything. While worn out dogmas are experiencing their death throws in church pews, the halls of science, the streets and alleys or repressed states, schools of medicine and in the depths of the human psyche, time is running out. What do I mean by that? Simply, the destruction humanity is causing on the planet is happening at a faster pace than it takes to correct the problems. We have passed environmental, economic and political tipping points. The die is cast and only clear, conscious, sincere and strong visualized choosing can ameliorate the consequences. Actually, the best you can do is save yourself since that is all anyone can really do. I do not mean run to the woods and become a survivalist, but you need to be prepared for worst case scenarios. Must it be this way? It didn’t have to, many a prophet warned of our folly. In Nostradamus’ image of the wheel in the lost book, part of the Tarot Code spoken of in the “Waking God Trilogy,” we see images of a dysfunctional wheel; all that we know falling apart. In his Tower, we see the flames consuming all that we have built on a foundation or dogma, sand and error. DaVinci, in his not very discussed prophecies, talks of great calamity. But none of these things had to be. We chose the worse case in absentia, through omission, through ignorance, looking through blinders wrapped in memes we were convinced were true. And yet, we still do not act. The seed for action is there and we are seeing some positive fruit, but it appears that only the Apocalypse will wake us from our slumber and end our millennia of torment, destruction, lies, war, and disconnect from the environment and each other. Keep in mind that our evolution can, and hopefully will, be instantaneous. The tragedies, political absurdities, environmental collapse and the revelation of the greed that has dominated humanity’s history are coming to light. It can activate the ‘god seed,’ the so called junk DNA within us all, that will awaken us to a new earth. Not in some idiotic religious sense, but in a deeply rooted spiritual sense in which we finally, “get it.”

Make no mistake, the Apocalypse is here now. The kettle is about to boil over. If you are prepared to entertain totally new concepts, new paradigms, new sciences, a new spirituality, all will be well for you. The answer will not be outside of you. There will be no savior here, or there. You have been warned about that. In fact, as Mantrella says, a lead character in Waking God Book I, “It is not about saving humanity, it never has been.” You are not evil. You are not born in some self-serving concept of universal sin. Let the pressure of 2012 build within and allow your inner transformation, your evolution.

2012 WAKING GOD PROPHECIES

I am often asked, “Will 2012 happen?” Barring a hit by an asteroid or the arrival of Niburu, earth’s nemesis, December 21, 2012 will arrive. The world will not end. That’s the good news. So here is the rundown on the 2012 WAKING GOD PROPHECIES.

ECONOMY - No good news here. The EU debt crisis will create world-wide economic turmoil. The European Central Bank wants to be able to approve member nation budgets. Can you imagine, bankers having to approve a budget passed by Congress-Oh wait…. Even if this passes, (update: the EU has approved a version of this plan) the first time a member nation budget is not approved, all hell will break loose. Or, if this does not happen, investors are saying that nations that do not agree to this will not have their support. Chaos will ensure either way. As far as the American economy goes, it is already being negatively impacted by the EU debacle. Add the China economic constriction to the mix and the news is bleak. The out-of-control consumer spending is at an end. Watch for big drops in retail sales. Consumers will once again look to credit cards but we all know where that will end up. A Global economy brings Global economic problems. In a sense, we are experiencing the “Global Company Store.” But, as the top heavy economy crumbles, look for more localized, small is beautiful systems emerging. Continued depletion of resources will lead to scarcities. Continued environmental catastrophes will be a major factor in 2012. This is a positive event as the earth can no longer sustain the current level of rape and pillage. Advice? Keep basic necessities on hand. Have as many energy back-ups as possible-ways to cook, heat, light and eat. Rice and beans will get you through. Many more jobs will be lost, be prepared for the worst because the choices our leaders have made, or haven’t made, spells disaster!

CLIMATE – Totally no good news here either. Just look at all of the severe weather records that have been broken and the total inaction on the part of world leaders to ameliorate human impact on climate. Environmental disasters will continue to decimate insurance funds, destroy personal lives, and add to economic collapse. We are in the midst too many eco-system collapses and, much to the dismay of many, we are a part, not above nature. Climate tipping points have been reached and there is nothing we can do to avoid reaping what we have sown. However, forewarned is fore armed. Plan for the changes that are coming. Move away from any area that is prone to violent weather, quakes, water shortage, or sea rise. Get away from places that allow fracking, your water is poisonous and watch for damaging quakes in the west and mid-west. What we keep hearing is that scientist are constantly underestimating the effects of this or that factor; e.g. release of methane from Tundra, very fast glacial melts, sea current shift …. People think that climate change is always slow. This is not true and rapid changes have occurred in climate history. We are at one of those points now. Advice? I am not suggesting becoming a survivalist and hiding out in the mountains, although … I am suggesting that you have a Plan B where you can fend for yourself and family for at least 6 months. By those non-hybrid seeds this spring, assuming the climate will let you grow them. The wild card, solar flares! We have had several near misses. If we are hit head on, goodbye internet, power and ….

POLITICS – Can you say chaos? The left and right are sharply divided and nothing seems capable of bridging the gap. Not just in the U.S., you will see this division globally. People versus greed, those are the choices. I think we will see the brother against brother scenario and much social unrest. Don’t be surprised to see troops, illegally, deployed stateside. Fun times will not be had this summer, at the latest. Climate disasters and economic gridlock will create amazing tensions between haves and have nots. Cities will not be pleasant places to be. As for the Middle East, lots of danger lurks. It is quite possible that Israel will bomb Iran’s nuclear centers. The recent explosion at one of Iran’s missile sites could have been a test run. And, the downing and capture of an American drone by use of electronic jamming could put the U.S. in a supporting role. The Saudis would have no problem with this and with most of the Middle East in disarray, few are left to protest. Advice? Duck and cover! No, I don’t see a major nuclear exchange. But should this happen, relations with China would sink to an all time low. Remember, they hold trillions in U.S. debt and could make life even more economically miserable. Further, with public protests in Russia against Putin, he could use new tensions to demand more authority and become a true dictator, flouting the U.S./Israel as the scapegoats and lead the world to a new cold/semi-hot war. The other option is that Putin will be ousted but with Russians used to central authorities; it is possible another could rise from his ashes promising reform while instituting greater control, Stalin style. All in all, global politics will create further economic turmoil and the oceans will rise while politicians debate how to give banks more money. The whole in the dike is too big for a thumb. So keep an eye on events and plan accordingly.

So what’s the plan? SAVE YOURSELF! We create our reality and the reality that is coming this way is the fruit of our collective labors. However, we have all been advised to ‘be in, but not of’ this world. Meaning, yes, we live here, but don’t have to be caught up in the madness. This is the double edged sword. It is important to know what is going on, but even more important not to let events pull you into the whirlpool. A higher frequency is not affected by a lower one. The more you visualize your life as being filled with love and abundance, the greater your chances of avoiding the worst. This is the Time of Choosing discussed in the Waking God books. Not a religious choice, but a spiritual choice to consciously create a new reality for ‘your’ world. Sorry, as the character Mantrella says, “It’s not about saving humanity….” You can’t and all of the great master teachers tell you this. Actually, there really is no saving involved. Learn, experience, grow in wisdom and rise above the trials and tribulations and create a new earth. Evolve and let the dormant genes within you express themselves. We call these genes ‘god seeds.’ Again, not in any sense of worn out religious dogma, but rather, in the sense that we do and can create our reality and now is the time to do so consciously. Science is now telling us that the mystics are right. We live in an illusion of our own devices. So, is a way, by “Knowing thyself, you save yourself.”

Many prophets have pointed to this time as one of extreme danger or one of extreme evolution and enlightenment. The likes of Nostradamus, DaVinci, the Hopi, Mayans and others always painted two pictures; disaster or revelation. They told us that the bridge ahead has been washed out and that we need to detour. Many do not believe that the bridge is damaged and are unwilling to put on the breaks and veer to the less traveled road. Many cultures also talk about the ‘return of the gods.’ Is it not possible that the gods they refer to are us?

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's archaeology institute downplays theories that the ancient Mayas predicted some sort of apocalypse would occur in 2012, but on Thursday it acknowledged that a second reference to the date exists on a carved fragment found at a southern Mexico ruin site.

"There's no reason it couldn't be also a date in ancient times, describing some important historical event in the Classic period. In fact, the third glyph on the brick seems to read as the verb huli, "he/she/it arrives."

"...the Tortuguero tablet and the Comalcalco brick – were probably carved about 1,300 years ago and both are cryptic in some ways.

The Tortuguero inscription describes something that is supposed to occur in 2012 involving Bolon Yokte, a mysterious Mayan god associated with both war and creation.

However, erosion and a crack in the stone make the end of the passage almost illegible, though some read the last eroded glyphs as perhaps saying, "He will descend from the sky."

Interesting that this glyph has only recently been found. Coincidence. And, what is that may 'arrive'? With all that is happening in the world, is it just possible that 2012 will bring, like the Solar max, a climax to these events. ET's? Don't know. Activation of some of our 'junk DNA'? Possible-stress does such things in terms of evolution. Certainly, interesting times!

Michael smiled in approval and the Inner Circle finally relaxed. “There is little that Mantrella can do. Who would turn down a cure from the AIDS pandemic? Already hundreds of millions have perished. If the religious strife were not enough, few will refuse the opportunity to be spared from the mutated virus. They fear the plague more than the clergy.”

“Lord,” Brathmore said, “we are losing much in this turmoil.”

Michael turned on the man, eyes blazing. Brathmore fell to his knees in maddening pain. The others moved back from their comrade in fear of touching Michael’s anger.

“You know nothing of losing,” Michael whispered. As he spoke his eyes cooled and the pain in every molecule of Brathmore began to subside. Michael felt absolute contempt for the petty desires of humans. He needed them, but he also hated them. The thought that he once bowed before the archetype, an event he vowed never to repeat, turned his stomach.

Regaining his wits, Brathmore uttered, “I am sorry, my Lord. You have always done us well. I did not mean to doubt. Forgive me.” Brathmore prostrated himself before Michael, who smiled at the supplication.

“Fear not for your worldly treasures,” Michael insisted. “I will soon reveal the Joshua Tree.”

Otto and the others were shocked by the Archangel’s announcement.

“How did you get the Priory to reveal the name of the Joshua Tree?” Otto questioned.

“They have been betrayed,” Michael answered evenly. “I have had an insider since the beginning. He will be making the announcement. He will use DNA from Mary to prove beyond any doubt that David is of the lineage of Jesus. The world is ready to buy into just about anything that will offer some hope of salvation from these terrible times. And who better than the next Secretary General of the United Nations?”

“Does Mantrella know?” asked Giovanni.

“He will learn of it shortly in the news, along with the rest of the world,” Michael promised, erupting into bitter laughter. Although uneasy, the Inner Circle joined in the jubilation.

The above quote is translated from a German translation of Hesiod’s Theogony of 1817. Professor Voss translated the Greek to read ‘they who dwell on the heights of Olympus’. In newer versions of the same passage, we find a slightly different slant: ‘... [gods] dwelling in heavenly houses’.

Let me put these two translations, separated by only 150 years, alongside each other so that you can compare them and draw your conclusions:
1817: First the gods, they who dwell on the heights of Olympus, brought forth a golden race of much‐ discoursing men. These were ruled by Chronos, at that time reigning in heaven. And they lived like the gods, their souls continually cared for...
1970: Deathless gods dwelling in heavenly houses first created the golden race of frail human beings. That was at the time of Chronos, when he was still king in the heavens. And they lived like gods, having no worry in their hearts…
The ancient Greek some of us may have toiled over at school is not sufficient to judge which version is more accurate. Although the general drift of both translations is broadly the same, there is a fundamental difference between ‘heights of Olympus’ and ‘heavenly houses’, and between ‘ruled by Chronos’ and ‘at the time of Chronos’. What will the translation sound like in the year 2100? And what was the original sense and meaning in Hesiod’s time?
His account goes on: after the ‘golden race’ the gods created a second, lesser race, a ‘silver race’. This race was still created by the same gods, those who ‘dwell in the heights of Olympus’, or, perhaps, ‘dwell in heavenly houses’. This ‘silver race’ was of a lower order than the golden race, both in form and out look, and was made up of ‘softies’, whose mothers pampered them.
After this came: ‘... a third race of noisy people’. These were of ‘great strength and force’, and ‘from their shoulders grew huge limbs’. This race is supposed to have been obdurate and
obstinate, and its agricultural tools were made of metal. But this race too was a disappointment apparently, and so Chronos created a fourth as well: that of the heroes or half‐gods.
We modem people, according to Hesiod, belong to the fifth race, the iron race. We are a mixture of ‘good and evil’, and experience joy and pain. But when things degenerate to such a nextent that children no longer resemble their fathers, hosts no longer welcome their guests, and brothers no longer love one another, then our race too will be destroyed in the name of Zeus.
Hesiod gives a vivid, detailed description, including all the finer points of the weapons involved, of the battle between the gods and the Titans. Although the latter had been created by the gods themselves, they had to vanish from the face of the earth. A terrible struggle broke out, in which even father god Zeus got involved, hurling from the skies great exploding bolts of lightning, missiles which made the seas boil, burned whole regions and brought the earth to its trembling knees. Hesiod uses many pages to describe the slaughter, but I will quote only a short excerpt from the 1817 translation:
‘Up above too, the Titans consolidated their squadrons ... loudly did the earth quake, and the dome of heaven boomed … and straight from heaven and from Olympus rushed in the Thunderer, with a flash of lightning. Blow fell upon blow, with rumbling and flashing of fire ... holy flames intertwined … the fertile sprouting earth flamed up and the great forests collapsed in the fury of fire… then the holy winds caught fire too, so that the eyes of even the strongest were blinded … as if the domed heaven descended close to the earth, the loudest, most thunderous noise vented itself … the gods stormed in to the fray, the winds blew wildly and whirled up dust and destruction ... then Zeus sent his sublime missile ...and awful clamor arose…‘
Such a battle was not waged with earthly means. Something very similar, but with even more dreadful weapons, is described in the Indian epic The Mahabharata. There, too, different races of gods do battle with each other:
‘The unknown weapon is radiant lightning, a frightful messenger of death, which turns to ashes all who belong to the Vrishni and the Andhaka. The bodies consumed by fire were unrecognizable. Those who escaped with their lives lost their hair and their nails. Clay pots broke without cause, the birds turned white. In a short while food became poisonous. The lightning fell to earth and became fine dust.’
And what did Gilgamesh say, when his friend Enkidu died in great pain after encountering the divine monster Chumbaba? ‘Was it perhaps the poisonous breath of the heavenly beast which struck you?’
The Mahabharata versions available in German are all edited and shortened. Since I can’t read Sanskrit, I have to refer mainly to the many volume versions in English. The similarities with Hesiod are too compelling to be simply over looked. It was as if the elements had been set free. The sun turned in circles, and burning from the weapon’s heat, the world staggered in flames. Elephants were singed by fire and ran wildly to and fro ... the water grew hot, the beasts died ... the thundering of the flames made the trees crash one after the other as in a forest fire.. Horses and chariots burst into flames ... thousands of chariots were destroyed, then a deep silence fell ... a terrible sight met the gaze. The corpses of the fallen were disfigured by the awful heat ... never before have we seen such a dreadful weapon, never before have we heard of such a weapon.
This is also the place to mention another cross‐reference to Gilgamesh: ‘The heavens cried out, the earth screamed out in reply. Lightning lit up, a fire flamed upwards, death rained down. The brightness vanished, the fire was extinguished. All that had been struck by the lightning turned to ashes.’
All these weapons of mass destruction—whether described by Hesiod, or in The Mahabharata, or the Epic of Gilgamesh—were used in times before written history began. If these battles of the gods had occurred in an ‘historical epoch’, we would have precise accounts with dates. Since this is clearly not the case, they must either have taken place in prehistoric times—or in the imagination. I do understand the point of view of scholars who made their commentaries on these ancient Writings before 1945. But since the end of the Second World War, since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we ought to be a bit wiser. We now know what ‘gods’ are capable of.

Odyssey of the Gods I

In The Waking God Trilogy we claim that there is a 'god seed' within the human DNA. recently, science has told us that the genes that distinguish human from ape is in the 'junk DNA' that up to this point has been largely thought to be old stuff, sort of like an appendix, that held no real value regarding human evolution. Now we read more on Erich von Daniken who claims that the ancient Greek gods were aliens that lived and bred among us. Between von Daniken, the Waking God books, the History Channel shows on Ancient Aliens and even Tom Averna's book that claims that the 'gods' never left. you just can't help but wonder if 'something' is about to happen to humanity that will rock the very foundation of its existence.

In Odyssey of the Gods, Erich von Däniken explores the Greek myths, with which so many have grown up. One of these age‐old legends is the exploits of Jason and the Argonauts as they go in search of the Golden Fleece. But do we at all remember that when we actually read these legends, it says that this Golden Fle
When von Däniken delved into the myths of the Greek gods that lived on Mount Olympus, he found how a translation from 1817 specifically described these deities as “they who dwell on the heights of Olympus”, while a 1970 translation renders the same sentence as “dwelling heavenly houses”. More and more, these Greek myths are translated “freely” and while doing so, certain key information that shows that the Greeks considered these gods to be far more real and present, is slowly substituted with the idea that they believed the gods to be more idealized and imaginary. He notes this is a global phenomenon, as all versions of the Indian Mahabharata have all been edited and shortened in recent decades, thus losing vital information on the true nature of the gods.
The Greeks were also very clear on the fact that their gods were able to do miraculous healings, showing that what many consider to be a Christian phenomenon had far older roots. But what is clear – not just in the Greek culture, but even in the Bible – is that these gods had offspring. There are even passages that show how women died in childbirth, as the children they had begotten from these deities were larger than human beings, resulting in great problems during childbirth.
With all of these legends, it should not come as a surprise that in the early 20th century, an object now known as the Antikythera Device was unearthed from a sunken Greek ship. Today, the device is known to be an astronomical clock, demonstrating the astronomical knowledge the Greeks possessed. Not coincidentally, astronomy was said to be one of the sciences given by the gods to Mankind.
For forty years, Erich von Däniken has argued for the veracity of the ancient myths and legends: that they speak of genuine encounters with beings that were superior, as these creatures were extra‐terrestrial. But today, the stand‐off between science and the “evidence” that has been left behind by these early cultures, remains. But myths have been proven to be factual. And nowhere is this more in evidence than in the great Greek legend of the mythical city of Troy, one of the first recorded myths of Ancient Greece. For millennia, it was thought that this city did not exist, until Heinrich Schliemann discovered Troy, and proved that the myth was real.
With all this in mind, von Däniken tackles the greatest Greek “legend” of them all: that of the lost civilization of Atlantis, which science states never existed, and is purely an idealized state… even though the ancient Greeks were vociferous about its reality, even sending emissaries to Egypt to confirm that the story of Atlantis was factual. With that in mind, are we not close to having to accept the reality of this lost civilization… and the physical reality of the Ancient Greek gods?

Will 2012 be the year when aliens return, the god seed in our genes finds spontaneous expression, and when our entire notion of who and what we are is revealed? Tic, tock!

CHRISTIAN DOMINIONISM: A SKUNK BY ANY OTHER NAME...

Recent article have associated several GOP/Tea party presidential candidates with what is termed Christian Dominionism. This is a movement that appears to have surfaced in the late 60’s, although it certainly has much deeper roots, and has come to the fore in the upcoming election. One can research it’s meaning but I did find a very helpful article that offeres the following explanation (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chip-berlet/what-is-dominionism-palin_b_124037.html):

“This highly politicized concept of dominionism is based on the Bible's text in Genesis 1:26:
• "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (King James Version).
• "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" (New International Version).

The vast majority of Christians read this text and conclude that God has appointed them stewards and caretakers of Earth. As Sara Diamond explains, however, some Christian read the text and believe, ‘that Christians alone are Biblically mandated to occupy all secular institutions until Christ returns.’ That, in a nutshell, is the idea of ‘dominionism.’"

I have often talked about how taking Biblical quotes literally and out of context is very dangerous. Further, doing so has been a tool of the right to distort, twist and justify the most ungodly actions. It is one thing to promote ‘worn out dogma,’ it is another to twist that dogma for nefarious ends. The above quotes are at the root of anti-environmental actions on the part of big business as they see biblical justification to do with the planet as they see fit. I guess they figure that God will fix anything they screw up, which ‘He’ did when he caused the ‘Great Flood.’ I don’t see how they might find any comfort in that thought. See the part about secular institutions? Let’s examine this more closely.

“Christian Reconstructionism is a form of theocratic dominion theology. The core theme of dominion theology is that the Bible mandates Christians to take over and "occupy" secular institutions.
Soft Dominionists are Christian nationalists. They believe that Biblically-defined immorality and sin breed chaos and anarchy. They fear that America's greatness as God's chosen land has been undermined by liberal secular humanists, feminists, and homosexuals. Purists want litmus tests for issues of abortion, tolerance of gays and lesbians, and prayer in schools. Their vision has elements of theocracy, but they stop short of calling for supplanting the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Hard Dominionists believe all of this, but they want the United States to be a Christian theocracy. For them the Constitution and Bill of Rights are merely addendums to Old Testament Biblical law. They claim that Christian men with specific theological beliefs are ordained by God to run society. Christians and others who do not accept their theological beliefs would be second-class citizens. This sector includes Christian Reconstructionists, but it has a growing number of adherents in the leadership of the Christian Right.”

Any sane and rational person should see the danger and the hypocrisy in this co called ‘Christian ‘philosophy. This is religion at its worst. It is a hate philosophy that says unless you’re one of us, you are evil, the spawn of Satan, and if we get into power, we will get you. There is no Jesus here; no love your neighbor, no forgiveness, no peace, no light; only darkness and hatred. These beliefs merely replace the swastika with cross — onward Christian soldiers; hate/kill those who are not like us. In the Waking God Trilogy, we talked about the collapse of the ‘Church’ and the rise of radical religious groups. Fiction is now fact as those who hold to these beliefs have the money, corporate wealth at their disposal, and the politicians willing to do their bidding. This is a dangerous combination that should not be ignored. With all of the social and political turbulence in this country, it is quite possible that, like their National Socialists predecessors in pre-WWII Germany, they could sneak into power if all are not diligent.

Best selling and award winning author, Piers Anthony, recommends THE SECOND COMING OF HUMANITY! So have you read it yet??? Time is running short as we are rapidly approaching 2012!

I read Waking God III, The Second Coming of Humanity, the conclusion of a trilogy by Philip F Harris and Brian L Doe, published electronically by ALL THINGS THAT MATTER PRESS. Like the prior volumes it has heavy action interspersed by the religious theme. It begins with a dense summary of the prior volumes, then gets to the continuation. The essence, if I understand it correctly, is that the child, Adam, has been conceived, who when born will herald the new order. Naturally there are those who wish to prevent this child from being born and who don't hesitate at murder; the minions of Evil don't pussyfoot. His parents have to travel deviously to Jerusalem, avoiding killers. At one point a woman who looks like the mother runs to intercept the bullet meant for the mother, giving her life for the child. The novel concludes with alternate endings, and a series of maxims from the Da Vinci Prophecies from the Codex Atlanticus, such as “OF CRUCIFIXES WHICH ARE SOLD: I see Christ again sold and crucified, and his saints suffering martyrdom.” I don't pretend to understand all this, but it's interesting, and I think exactly what would happen to Jesus Christ if he came again and tried to thwart the special interests who govern our society. Religion, the opiate of the masses, is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with business; that's as true in our day as it was in his day. So I recommend this for those who are more into adventurous religion than I am, who may be more competent to relate to its nuances. The authors obviously take religion and prophecy seriously.

A Great Read!

The Second Coming of Humanity is Book III of the WAKING GOD TRILOGY by Authors Philip F. Harris and Brian L. Doe from All Things That Matter Press.

This is one of those books that you want to take with you on vacation, or if you know you're going to be waiting at the airport for a while, or waiting anywhere. If you have very strong will power, you might put it beside your bed or next to your reading chair, but once you start it, it will be very hard to put down.

The authors have crafted a well written, well thought out spiritual thriller in the tradition of "The DaVinci Code." Or it may be more accurate to describe it as "The DaVinci Code" meets "The Celestine Prophecy." Filled with mythical and biblical characters playing rather different roles than expected, this spiritual thriller will keep you going till the very unusual end. You don't have to have read books I and II since the authors summarize for you at the start of this one, but do yourself a favor and get those also. You're going to want to read them.

THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON HAS BEGUN!

But not in the way touted by religious dogma! As we all know, “Armageddon” is mentioned but once in the Bible, Revelations 16:16. It is here, a place that does not even physically exist, that dogma claims that the forces of good and evil will battle it out. It is said that the Bible means har Megiddon, which is really a plain; the meaning of Megiddon being mountain or high place.

Book III of The Waking God Trilogy, The Second Coming of Humanity, proclaims that the “battle” has begun. Yet, there is no physical evidence of this event occurring. This is because the engagement is not in the physical plane, but rather in the mind. There are physical manifestations, but the battle is mental. Mystically, when a reference is made to a ‘mountain,’ it is meant to symbolize higher levels of thought and awareness. It is in this place that all thought forms a pattern which manifests as reality.

It should be clear to any thinking person that the world is a bit messed up. Religion likes to argue that current events are the signs of the “End Times.” In a way, they are right, times are certainly changing, the old is battling the new and manifestations of this mental insurgency are manifesting everywhere and in every aspect of life. What precisely is happening? In the area of religion, we see scandal ridden dogma, the emptying of pews due to meaningless sermons, a questioning of basic religious teachings, and as Sam Harris says, the end of faith. At the same time, there is the rise in spirituality; the notion that all things are sacred, interconnected, and that each person can directly commune with higher levels of awareness in the pursuit of the Great Awakening. The Second Coming of Humanity calls this the god seed.

In economics, there is the growing awareness of the haves and the have nots. While this struggle is age old, the rapid spread of information via the internet has tremendously increased the awareness of the greed and power of the few as they seek to maintain their control over the middle and working classes. Newly revealed fraud, corruption and blatant disregard for the welfare of the people and the environment have polarized this issue on a world-wide basis with the manifestation of this mental battle resulting in the current state of economic turmoil.

Clearly, the politics of the world is rapidly headed for, or already in a state of confrontation. The Tea Party mentality which basically seeks to reinstate the reign of kings and self-created moral and religious dogma are head to head with more liberal ideas. Political lines are getting dangerously close to outright confrontation. Deadlock and gridlock are crippling the very functioning of western governments. The Arab Spring is a clear indicator of where this is could be heading. The protection of the rich at the expense of the general population is a fundamental issue as attempts are made to cut social programs in the name of the false promise of ‘creating jobs.’ The rich keep getting more, but this is not lost on a population that is better informed.

In science, there is the old school mechanics versus the new school quantum physicists. Is the universe simply the result of chance and mechanistic laws, or, as many scientists are saying, all that we observe in the universe is the direct result of consciousness? Is all that happens merely chance, or is the outward world merely a mirror of inner thinking. Is there an independent reality, or do we make it up as we go? Is entanglement, non-duality and multi-universes the true nature of things, or is it just what you see is what you get?

There is not a single aspect of life where old, worn out dogma is not in the throes of upheaval. And, if you can believe the Kabbalists, and others, who say that that we are directly responsible for all that happens in our world, then is their little wonder about the state of world affairs? As the inner mind debate heats up, the planet heats up. As we struggle with mass consumerism versus living sustainably, is there little wonder about environmental and economic chaos? As we expose ourselves to all levels of toxic products and containers, can we not see why the planet is ill? The greater the human turmoil, the greater the earth response in the forms of quakes, volcanoes, floods, and disease. All connected, all intertwined into one living system where the action of one is the cause of the other.

There have been many warnings of false prophets. There has also been the dogma that one day; a savior will appear to cleanse the earth and its inhabitants of all evil. This defies all logic and even imagination. It even defies the fundamental teachings of the great avatars who clearly have indicated what you so, you shall reap. People want to think that they can get ‘off the hook’ if they follow a particular creed or religion. Yet, these very religions have at their core the teachings that this is not the case. The battle in the mind, Armageddon, has indeed begun. It is not about good and evil, it is about knowing and ignorance. It is about enabling the god seed within to blossom and manifest. We, humanity are the Second Coming!

WHY DOES RELIGION WANT TO KILL US OFF?

Okay, not all religions, but....The Huffington Post ran an interesting article on Religious Teachings On The End Of The World. This was in response to the ‘end of the world’ claims for this past May 21^st. In the article they listed brief commentary about what the major religions teach about the ‘End Times.’ What is particularly interesting is that only Bible and Christian based religions see an angry god who will one day destroy the wicked and wreak havoc on the planet.

The vision of the end times in the New Testament can be understood only through a Jewish worldview that saw reality in terms of the present, evil age, where the wicked dominate and persecute the righteous, and the age to come, when God will judge the wicked and vindicate the righteous -- both the living and the dead. In order for the dead to be judged, there must be a general resurrection. Besides this moral dimension, the transition is also described in terms of a cosmic destruction and the subsequent creation of a new heaven and new earth. This new heaven and new earth is God's reality of no more death, sin or suffering: paradise restored. The other major religions talk more of cycles where there are positive and negative times, but the cycles always move human consciousness to higher planes of understanding and enlightenment. So why does Christianity seem to want to destroy humanity and save but a few? Why do they promote the idea that death and worldwide destruction is inevitable? What does Christianity have against humanity?

In WAKING GOD BOOK III: THE SECOND COMING OF HUMANITY, we talk of Armageddon; not a battle of weapons, but a battle in the mind. We rule out the Christian option of doom, but maintain that we are on the cusp to cycle ever upward in our evolution. Yes, there is choice and responsibility and there are tough times ahead for many. Hell, there are tough times for many now. But we determine the reality that will manifest and, if it all crumbles, it is not because of some pissed off god; rather, it is because we chose the path of fear. Clearly, it is indeed time to end the era of worn out religious dogma; a dogma that keeps you frightened and at odds with everyone that thinks differently. This is a ‘time of choosing.’ Read the excerpts below and decide who has the better vision. Not with an eye to accepting one religion over another, but rather to understand that the Christian view of the Universe does not take you to that higher level of evolution.

Orthodox Christians believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, the ensuing judgment of our sins and the resulting eternal life in either Heaven or Hell. Everything that Scripture says about a time of tribulation and suffering is accepted, but the faithful will be present for all of it. We will not be spared the sufferings or tribulation. Christ himself tells us that all will suffer and that no one knows when He will return for Judgment Day. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake." Matthew 24:9

The end time in Jewish tradition is often depicted as a time of strife, of the wars of Gog and Magog, of what the rabbis called picturesquely "the birth pangs of the Messiah." Images of resurrection (based on scattered passages such as Daniel chapter 12) and an awakening of the dead were commonplace. But alongside the anticipated violent paroxysms of a new world being born there is a more peaceful, gentle view. In the Talmud, Samuel equates messianic days with the freedom of the Jewish people from the subjugation to foreign powers, a very "this-wordly" view.

Hinduism does have eschatology of sorts, especially in relation to Kali Yuga -- the last of the four cosmic seasons. These ages follow a pattern of spiritual devolution so that the last age, Kali, marks a complete contrast to the first, Satya. Satya Yuga is likened to gold; Kali Yuga is the age of iron. If Satya is compared to a blossoming springtime, Kali is the cold, devastating winter. Hindu texts, such as the celebrated Bhagavata Purana, describe how in Satya Yuga people are practically divine beings, whose qualities and piety put them in a state of incredible self-awareness and naturally connect them to God and to one another.

Classical Buddhism — like the extant Hinduism of its time—imagined a repeating cycle of "kalpas," or cosmic time periods, each 10 billion to 15 billion years long (remarkably close to what modern scientists measure as the age of our universe). Each kalpa is supposed to have its own Buddha -- or, according to some texts, a series of Buddhas. There have been Buddhas in past kalpas. Siddhartha Gautama is the Buddha of our time, and Maitreya Buddha is considered the Buddha-in-waiting for the next kalpa. So the Buddhist vision of the universe is more cyclical than linear, and does not imagine a singular "end time" when the universe will definitively end. However, according to Dr. Richard Jaffe, Associate Professor of Religion at Duke University, each kalpa does end with a "world-destroying fire," after which the new kalpa is re-created and the cycle repeats.

One of the most oft-mentioned theological teachings in the Quran, Islam's sacred revealed scripture, is that only God is infinite and everything else other than God is finite with a determined beginning and end…In typical fashion, the Quran speaks generally and somewhat vaguely about the events leading up to the end of times and the Day itself. The hadith (the collection containing the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad) offer more specifics. According to the many hadith on this topic, the Prophet Muhammad foretells that previously poor barefoot shepherds will compete in making tall buildings; people will engage in much violence, bloodshed and anarchy; sexual immorality will become rampant and public; natural disasters will increase tremendously; an impostor by the name of Dajjal will delude people into following and worshipping him; and Jesus will return to confront and ultimately kill the Dajjal; among other things.

The Baha'is have an interesting and different take on the end times scenario. Rather than expecting a Hollywood-screenwriter's dream that will occur within 24 hours, like this coming Saturday, they instead see "the end of days" as the end of one major stage of history and the beginning of a new one.

PHIL: I think one of the things you say here s really accurate, when you lose it, you know, when you do something that you say why did I do that? It was such a downer, so to speak, you feel the energy drain out of yourself. I mean, every now and then we revert to our old ways, or something will crop up. And if you’re somebody that has embarked on the spiritual path, and you have begun to make connections, and the energy is beginning to flow, and suddenly you allow the way you have been creep back up on you, you just suddenly look around and go, “Oh my god you know, what am I doing? Why am I thinking like this?” And there’s no question you feel that loss of that connection to that energy.
The seventh insight brings us into engaging the flow, knowing our personal mission and enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences, as we are guided toward our destiny. “First we have a question, and then dreams, daydreams with intuitions that lead us toward the answers which are usually synchronistic and provided by the wisdom of another human being.” Knowing our mission, I’m sure for a lot of people, that’s the common question, why am I here? What is my mission, what is my purpose? I think the implication here is once you began on that path, people, events, things begin to happen that begin to guide you in that direction. Is that kind of what this insight is about?

JAMES: Without a doubt, I mean it’s, you know all were talking about is synchronistic flow, you know this is the holy grail of the consciousness we are describing. We want to be able to walk out of our house, working on some project maybe, or whatever, we get an intuition, someone to call about a certain issue we have. Someone will pop into our heads or we will just run into someone and have a casual conversation, and it will become a synchronicity, a mysterious coincidence that brings an answer to our ongoing journey, in other words, a direction. So that you know, those mysterious coincidences that open doors, and having those happen routinely, is the definition of this awakening as it begins to integrate. If our lives aren’t full of these things, if we aren’t solving these problems by having chance encounters that just happen to bring us information, or having intuitively been thinking of an old friend, call ‘em up and they say I was just thinking about you, I got this kind of information I’ve been working on, what do you think. And that new information somehow solves the problem for us; opens a new door for us. If we’re not having those, then we’re not quite in the flow, the seventh insight is to understand that there is a flow out there that we can move in to. Now, you have to, believe in these coincidences, have faith that they are going to happen, you have a spiritual work that you’re doing, where you’re constantly trying to get more and more connected, with the divine within yourself, and this channel that’s divine awareness. But once you get in to that flow, it’s what we all really want, we want our lives to be at that level of mystery and intrigue and fulfillment. That’s what we are looking for and that’s why people who are watching the Jerry Springer Show, you know their thinking, it must be in that, you know. But it’s not; it’s the flow we’re looking for.

PHIL: It’s kind of like the use of intuition, I, I know myself just form personal example, when I hear that little voice say don’t go this way, go that way; or go to this store instead of that store, I mean, it can be little things; it doesn’t have to be mind altering, life altering kinds of events. But the little voice that sort of directs you and when I follow it, then the voice picks up more and more, and it does kind of lead to bigger and better things. And when you don’t, it’s like, wow, I just shut myself off from something, why didn’t I listen to that voice, why did I do that when you know, inside of myself it said hey maybe you ought to not go in that particular direction, and maybe you really ought not to contact that person. Your ego jumps in and you say, well I'm going to do it anyway, I'm in control. And it’s kind of like, the more you allow intuition to speak to yourself, the more intuitive insights you have. So I would imagine, just like your saying here, the more you allow this flow, this synchronicity, the so called coincidences occur, the greater they become. It’s a wonderful system when you let it work, isn’t it?

JAMES: Absolutely, and it’s our heritage, it’s our inevitable cosmic personality. It’s what we’re growing into; it’s what these insights are talking about, these awakenings, these steps to our awakening. You know that’s what we want, that’s what we are going to get as we become more devoted to the spiritual life. You know, and let me say, I want to point one thing out about the sixth insight; we can’t stay in that flow if we’re doing something that we are addicted to by habit that breaks the flow. If we ever manipulate at all with the first lie, we tell the first manipulation we seek, to maneuver some person to where we think we want them. As soon as that happens, you are dead in the water. You just might as well have a seat, because nothing is going to flow until you move past that habit or tendency. Everybody has one; it’s a controlled drama of some kind. Some are worse than others, but I’ll tell you, it’s all addictive. It’s all an addiction, it’s a way we learn how to feel secure in the world. And sometimes we bring it in from previous lifetimes. This is not all easy. You know, if it was easy we would have done it already. There’re some challenges that also will respond to our intention, and if we concentrate on staying in this spiritual space, and trust the divine in us to lead us forward, and to give up, just move past these bad habits, get in the flow of our proper work in the world, then those things happen.

PHIL: I think that’s what’s beautiful about the system. When I was talking to Maia Berens about relationships, we were talking about the point that it is never too late. You know, her husband is 70 years old and he just got a teaching job and he’s going to get his teaching certificate. I guess the point being, if you do screw up, so to speak I hate using any judgmental terms, but if you do sort of fall back into that controlling trap, it’s not like somebody is going to come around and punish you, or like you’re damned eternally or anything, you can turn it around at any point don’t you think.

JAMES: Absolutely, and we practice our mission twenty four hours a day so, it’s not all about career, its life. It’s every bit of our lives, and you may be making widgets somewhere for a living, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a truth to fill. Something to contribute to others that could cross your path, the main thing is to just find what it is that really becomes something that you are inspired to say to other people, that you find will touch them and bring them more in to the spiritual consciousness, remember its contagious. And it’s the contagion that we fan when we’re performing our missions.

The last book in an epic trilogy, with a heavenly-high bar already established by books one and two, "Waking God Book III: The Second Coming of Humanity" does not disappoint--in fact, it yanks the bar off its stanchions and hurls it into the stratosphere. Eternal arch-enemies, Mantrella (aka `Lucifer,' `The Morning Star,' and `Christ,'--yes, you read that last one correctly) and Michael come angelically and mightily head-to-head and wing-to-wing in the battle for the future of earth and the fate of the human beings that inhabit it. In this gripping and status-quo-challenging trilogy, Lucifer is not your enemy, and angels are not your friends.

"Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods?"

That quote of Jesus, taken from the New Testament, is repeated thematically throughout "The Second Coming." Because, and this is where `traditional' `Christians' and the organized church will shout, "Heresy!" and, "Burn the authors at the stake!"--Adam, who was `put into a deep sleep,' is about to awaken. The `dream,' all that we know--the Buddhists call it "Samsara"--the illusion of our reality, created by us all with our thoughts as part of Adam's dream, is about to come to an end. If Adam awakes, humanity is reunited with the godhead and, returns to its birthright--as gods, higher than the angels.

Michael doesn't like that idea. One bit. He uses all his power, magic, and influence to stop it. Mantrella is using all his power, magic and influence, to thwart Michael and facilitate the rise to godhood that is humanity's birthright. He knows the complete DNA--including the `god' seed--can be `reborn' in a divine child if he can successfully have main characters, Andrew and Mara, mate ... they both carrying each other's latent half of the necessary seed that activates upon conception. Hence, the urgency for enough of us to move fully into this loving process so as to set a model for others. I've now completed more than half the cites on our initial Twelfth Insight book tour, and the most common comment from readers is this: We're already feeling the phenomenon you're pointing out.

Much has happened since the release - the full-scale democracy movement in the Middle East, and earthquakes and tremors in the active "ring of fire" region around the Pacific Ocean, especially the terrible one in Japan. In light of these events, discussions with readers have focused on the fact, coming from the best scholarship on the Mayan Calendar, that this calendar does not foresee the end of the world. And thus, the seismic events should not be seen as an apocalyptic sign.

The Calendar is, without a doubt, a predictive instrument, and has been quite accurate forecasting the evolution of human society and our intellectual and social progress. In fact, its predictions have been very accurate for thousands of years. This accuracy seems even more pronounced concerning our present time, as readers' comments attest. Something, indeed, is happening, that we can already feel.

For our current time period, the calendar predicts a very important shift that it calls the 9th and final stage of divine creation, one that will bring a Unity Consciousness to humanity. When was it supposed to begin? March 9, 2011. What precisely have we been feeling? Clearly, exactly what was predicted: more Unity Consciousness with each other.

First there is the seeding, or intention to cultivate, then there is a sprouting, then leaf formation, and so on, each symbolic of a shift in consciousness that can be proved to oneself every step of the way.

As I've said before, ideas that imply this level of control over our own reality have, up to now, often been ridiculed as quackery, so publication of the above report by the National Academy of Sciences is remarkable. Scientists may soon be able to prove the existence of the gas giant, which could be four times the size of Jupiter, according to astrophysicists John Matese and Daniel Whitmire from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The two first proposed Tyche's existence in order to explain a change in path of comets entering the solar system...
So how could we have missed such a massive planet in our own solar system?
Well, it's 15,000 times further from the sun than Earth, according to Gizmodo. Tyche (if it does exist) lies in the Oort cloud, the outer shell of asteroids in our solar system.

THE TWELFTH INSIGHT AND SOCIAL REFORM

As I write this, the television is showing shots of Tahrir Square in Cairo filled with thousands of people shouting and jubilant in the street. Egyptian president Mubarak has just stepped down, and approximately two hundred thousand people are chanting in unison: "We ousted Mubarak! We ousted Mubarak!"

An expert commentator is saying, "This is as significant as the fall of the Soviet Union: A spontaneous call for democratic reform!"

A quick glance at my inbox reveals what I had a hunch might be there, a short comment by Carl Johan Calleman on the Egyptian phenomenon, saying that while this was not part of the surge in spiritual consciousness the Mayans were predicting, it is the first seeding of this surge, and amazing in itself. The real stuff, he continues, is going to be felt beginning on March 8, 2011, as a wave that builds in steps until it flashes complete and lasts through the Mayan calendar's best known end date of December 21, and beyond.

Calleman has become famous because he predicted the beginning of the world-wide financial collapse in 2007 with his interpretation of the Calendar's dates. And he agrees with me that the predicted consciousness will not be imposed. We have to learn to "tune" into this new level of spirituality. This "tuning" in process is exactly what I believe is already happening, and that I am calling a Twelfth Insight: the rise of a new clarity about how to live our spirituality at a new, down-to-earth level.

Are you interested in the "law of attraction" but not certain if our knowledge is complete? Do you know there is a "Secret" to manifesting our dreams, but feel we’re only now beginning to understand exactly how it is done? If you were in Egypt are you wondering if you would have dared to join in?

If so, then you’re beginning to "tune in" as well. And guess what? Every major religion has small enclaves of people lifting into this exact consciousness at the same time. In fact, as we begin to see a more lived spirituality across many religious traditions, we can say there is an "authentic spirituality" being demonstrated now for all to see.

Moreover, it is becoming clear that this common discovery of something deeper across major religions is already beginning to bridge the gap and competition between these traditions. In other words, spirituality at the level of direct experience feels the same for all of us, and so "feeling it" for ourselves is the new value.

At the same time, the Mayan Calendar is telling us something more: that regardless of religious preference, it's about to get easier to "tune in" than ever before. Why? Because the more people who do it, the more this consciousness becomes the norm in human culture, and thus, the easier (and more accepted) it will be for any one individual to take the step themselves.

In earlier articles, I have talked about how this "tuning in" feels. Every tradition speaks of the "fruits" of the spiritual life, and each emphasizes individual aspects of these fruits, but in a sense, as we embrace this "Authentic Spirituality," we are integrating all the different points of view into one common experience.

First and foremost, we get an inner feeling of Love and Peace from a higher Divine Connection. But we also get other, more esoteric perceptions as well: a psychological alignment with the Karmic design of the Universe, so that our goals and dreams begin to work at a more miraculous level; a guiding intuition that can be counted on to put us in the right place to live a flow of rich Synchronicity; and most profoundly, we get a nagging sense of something we are supposed to do in the world to make it better.

This nagging urge to do something is what the early bloggers and tweeters felt, as they helped launch the Egyptian call for democratic reform. And it's the reason so many people all over the planet look at what is happening with such hope. Yet, we all worry at the same time. What if the extremists on both sides take over and hijack the effort and return the country to dictatorship? What if the larger world powers don't support the effort enough?

Yet this worrying is just one more hint that the urge is building within all of us to go do something ourselves. God knows there is a lot wrong with the world. But the message of the Twelfth Insight is that we can do it. There is help coming, more than at any other time in history. Go ahead. Prove it for yourself. Tune in!

All it takes is the smallest knock on the door.

Our choices will determine the way the balance tips in the very near future and decisions we now make will either lead humanity to its next great evolution or...

So we're up to Countdown Article number #3, and I'm sitting at my computer wondering how best to get started. I made a decision at the beginning of this series of articles to "tell it like it is," as the saying goes, about where so many of us are in these weird times. And they are weird, aren't they?

People in Egypt, and elsewhere, are still taking to the streets, calling for more democracy and transparency in Government. No doubt, this is a positive sign, a sign that people feel empowered enough to risk everything in the search for a life of more freedom and opportunity — that is, it is positive until the action crosses the line into violence. Remember, one wants to say, the effectiveness of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. Nothing is more powerful than non-violent protest.

Trouble is, at the same time these authentic demands for freedom are being expressed, other factions are seeking to take advantage of the situation for less noble reasons: right-wing forces are paying desperate people to attack the demonstrators. Other despots want to replace the existing repression with a religious tyranny of their own. Even some democratic governments are subtly trying to manipulate things, all the while lying blatantly about their agenda — and getting outted by WikiLeaks.

Yes, indeed. The only word for it is weird. Yet amid the conflicting signals and motivations, I believe we can see an authentic call for reform persisting — a call that I think can be seen to represent a new step in spiritual awakening. In my new book, I call it the Twelfth Insight. But, just as easily, it could be called the Twelfth "call to action." Or the Twelfth "return to civility." Or a Twelfth "rise to an authentic Spirituality." For these labels speak to the characteristics of this experience.

In its essence, this street action reflects a larger call to a higher type of interaction that honors truth, and where ideas are exchanged without a hidden agenda or a jab at one's political opponents — and where every institution, from government to the news media to our own family, returns to honor about what they are doing. One would like to also add here: "just like it used to be." But of course, we know that truth and honor in public affairs has always been a bit of wishful thinking.

In fact, perhaps it was our collective awareness of this hypocrisy that led us to give up on truth in the past. For decades, it has become more and more accepted to subtly lie in politics, to hide the fine-print in legal agreements, to turn a blind eye to corruption if you're in the media, and to personally deceive others in order to gain money, prestige, or power. Now, we seem to have reached a point where no one even attempts to hide this loss of integrity any longer. The American Congress in 2010 seems to be the poster child for this loss in ethics.

Yet clearly, the massive amount of lies, fraud, and corruption we see around us has finally begun to shock us out of our complacency. But the tipping point is not the abstract idea of a return to ethics. The tipping point occurs when we discover how our lives are personally heightened when we go into integrity and honor. It's why I call what is happening a spiritual awakening. It turns out that even a small turn toward integrity pays immediate dividends. This occurs because to become honorable over truth requires that we move into a new, very precise, psychological place in our lives — one marked by an instant feeling of being centered at the vortex of our life experience.

Why is that important? Because we have to be in that place of centeredness before we can even know what is true in our own lives, and that place then systematically enlarges as more truth of life finds its way into consciousness. It feels the same way the wisdom teachers of every religious tradition have always said it would: The truth sets us free. It always has, even if this truth has to be eternally rediscovered by every generation and every person.

Find this place, and life's journey becomes the most fun. If we're honest, we begin to experience events that lift us into an ever-higher consciousness. We begin to notice the Synchronicities. And once we perceive this divine hand operating in the universe, our search always turns in the same direction: Toward a search for more spiritual truth, and when we knock on that door, we immediately begin to connect to a greater God Consciousness that feels like a download of energy, love and belongingness.

And it gets even better. Eventually we discover that we can enlarge our spiritual consciousness even more by getting in alignment with the Divine design of the universe. What is the key to this alignment? Our old friend, the truth — especially as we tell our truth to others. Most of us know that "what goes around comes around." We've seen it occur over and over again. And now we are proving to ourselves the role staying honest and honorable plays in this Karmic mechanism.

In a sense, by becoming centered in a search for spiritual truth, the full scope of Karma is being revealed to us. Deceive others by shading the truth for our own benefit, and we draw those same kinds of deceivers into our own lives. Not as punishment, but to show us how our distortions hurt, so we can come back to truth. And these lessons slow us down until we do.

On the other hand, if we act in truth and service toward others — where we say to each person what we have a hunch they need to know, becoming a Synchronicity for them — we draw those same types into our lives: people who are there to be a Synchronicity for us. This is when our Synchronistic flow and success really take off, as we are now in alignment with Divine design, bringing a new meaning to the scripture: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." In fact, a second line could now be added: "...because that's exactly how they are going to do unto you."

Doubt it? Just try the above principle for a while. The amazing thing is that this Karmic alignment is just one of the first discoveries that come from an honorable search for spiritual truth. Once we embrace integrity, we realize that there are more steps available to live at an even higher level of spirituality consciousness. And best of all, you don't necessarily have to get in the street to make a difference. When we get through all the steps of this consciousness, we arrive at a new level or positive influence that goes out into the world day and night.

Living in the truth is contagious, and it works to affect those still stuck in a corrupt system or way of thinking, but who want more. Then someone tunes into this influence, and feels they aren't alone, and writes an email exposing some corruption. Then another lends support, and then many join in, and suddenly a human institution is made better. In this way, things shift. Sometimes, it takes some time. In other cases, it happens immediately, spontaneously...in the blink of an eye.

I turned onto the freeway and hit cruise control, trying to ease up a bit. There was plenty of time to meet Wil at the airport. So I forced myself to relax and take in the autumn sunshine and the rolling southern hills. Not to mention the flocks of crows slinking along the shoulders of the highway.

The crows, I knew, were a good sign, even if I had been battling with them all summer. In folklore, their presence indicates mystery and an impending rendezvous with one's own destiny. Some say they will even lead you to such a moment, if you chance to follow them long enough.

Unfortunately, they will also show up in the early mornings to eat the young pea plants in your backyard garden—unless, of course, you make a deal. They laugh at scarecrows and shotguns. But if you give them their own row of plants near the forest, they will tend to leave the rest alone. Just then, a single crow flew over the car and out in front of me. Then turned completely around and headed back the way I'd come. I tried to follow it in the rearview mirror, but all I could see was a dark blue SUV about a hundred yards back. Thinking nothing of the vehicle, I continued to watch the scenery, taking in a deep breath and hitting another level of relaxation.

A road trip, I thought, nothing like it. I wondered how many people, in how many places, were experiencing this exact kind of moment—getting away from the stress of an unsure world, just to see what might happen.

Only, in my case, I was also looking for something. For months now, I had been running into total strangers all talking about the same thing: the secret release of an old, unnamed Document. Supposedly, it had come from a coalition representing the world's religious traditions, and word of it was already widespread, at least among those with an ear for such things. Yet no one seemed to have any details. Rumor had it that it was now being released ahead of schedule, out of necessity.

For me, the rumors were both intriguing and slightly humorous.

The idea of a coalition among the religious traditions was hardly new, but it had always proven to be all but impossible in reality. The differences in beliefs were just too great. And in the end, each tradition wanted to prevail over the others.

In fact, I had been ready to dismiss the rumors when something else had occurred: I received a fax from Wil. He sent me two translated pages, ostensibly from this old Document. In the margin of the first page was a notation in Wil's handwriting saying, "This has both Hebrew and Arabic origins."

As I read the pages, it seemed to be a treatment of modern times, proclaiming that something important was going to begin in the second decade of the twenty-first century. I grimaced at the date, thinking it might be one more end-of-the-world prophecy—another in a long line of doomsday predictions misinterpreting everything from the Mayan Calendar to Nostradamus to Revelation. All shouting to the ends of the Earth: "Haven't you heard, the world is ending in 2012!"

For years now, the media had been pushing the "end times" scenario, and people, though worried, also seemed deeply intrigued. The big question was why? What could be causing this fascination? Is it just the excitement over being alive at the precise time the Mayan Calendar is scheduled to end? Or was it something else? Maybe, just maybe, our fascination with the end revealed a latent intuition, increasingly noticeable, that something better was about to be born.

The more I read of Wil's fax, the more the pages began to carry a kind of numinous attraction. The style was upbeat and vaguely familiar in some way, and the authentic tone was confirmed when I saw a second notation from Wil on the last page. "This came from a friend," he had scribbled. "It's for real."

I looked over at the very same fax pages lying on the passenger seat beside me. Light from the afternoon sun flickered over them. Wil's written comment, I knew, meant that the original was, at least in his mind, well founded—and probably extended the message of what had always been his singular obsession: the old Celestine Prophecy that had been discovered in Peru.

The thought spawned a flood of memories as I recalled how quickly word of the First Nine Insights of this Prophecy had circulated around the planet. Why? Because they made sense in a world too shallow and materialistic. The message of this Prophecy was clear. Being spiritual is more than merely believing in some deity in the abstract. It entails the discovery of another, entirely different dimension of life, one that operates solely in a spiritual manner.

Once one makes this discovery, one realizes the universe is filled with all sorts of fortuitous encounters, intuitions, and mysterious coincidences, all pointing to a higher purpose behind our lives, and in fact, behind all of human history. The only question, then, for the seeker who wakes up to this reality is how does this mysterious world really operate, and how does one begin to engage its secrets.

In those days, I knew, something had popped in human consciousness and had led directly to two more Insights: a Tenth and Eleventh. The Tenth delved into the mystery of the Afterlife and chronicled a decade long focus on Heaven and its inhabitants, forever dispelling, along the way, an age- old repression of death and what happens afterward. Once that block was lifted, an exploration of everything spiritual seemed to begin.

Quickly came the next Insight: the Eleventh, born of a collective knowing that we are all here to participate in some as yet undefined agenda—a Plan of some kind. It involved the discovery of how to manifest our deepest dreams and to lift the world to its ideal. In the years that followed, this intuition grew into all sorts of theories about Secrets and Prayer Power and Laws of Attraction, theories that seemed right but not quite complete. Those theories, I knew, brought us up to recent times and lasted until the material bottom fell out from under all of us—in the form of a worldwide financial collapse. After that, we faced more immediate matters, such as personal solvency and not letting the doomsayers take us too far into fear. We were still awake, and we still wanted more spiritual answers. But from then on, those answers had to be practical as well. They had to work in the real world, no matter how mysterious that world turned out to be.

I felt a smile coming up…. How interesting that Wil had found these writings now. He had long predicted the emergence of another Insight, the Twelfth—which he felt would signal a final revelation for humanity, picking up where the Eleventh had left off. I wondered, would the Twelfth finally show us how to "live" this spiritual knowledge at a greater level? Would this change begin to usher in this new, more ideal world we seemed to sense was coming?

I knew we would have to wait and see. Wil had said only to meet him at the airport and from there we would head to Cairo, if it worked out. If it worked out? What did he mean by that?

~ Excerpt 2 ~

A deer dashing across the freeway broke my rumination, and I tapped the brakes to slow down. The big doe ran full speed across six lanes and jumped the fence on the other side. A deer was also a good sign, a symbol of attention and alertness.

As I looked out at the hills then, their fall colors now bathed in the light of an amber-tinted sunset, I realized I felt exactly that way: more alert and alive. All these thoughts had somehow induced a greater energy level in me, lifting me to a place where I was attending to every detail—the sunset, the landscape whizzing by, the thoughts entering my mind—as though everything was suddenly more important somehow.

Another huge smile spontaneously erupted. This was a state of mind I'd experienced many times before. And every time it happened, it caught me totally by surprise— surprise in one way over its sudden occurrence, and in another way over why I had ever lost it in the first place, it seemed so right and natural.

There were many names for this experience—the Zone, Heightened Perception, and my favorite, Synchronistic Flow—all names seeking to capture its central characteristic: a sudden elevation in one's experience, wherein we transcend the ordinary and find a higher meaning in the flow of events. This Synchronistic perception "centers" us in some way and feels beyond what could be expected from pure chance—as though a higher "destiny" is unfolding.

Suddenly, a building coming up on the right caught my eye. It was a little sports bar called the Pub that Wil had pointed out years ago as having good eats and homemade pies. I had passed it many times but had never stopped. Plenty of time now, I thought. Why not grab a bite here and avoid the airport food? I took the exit and headed down the ramp. The SUV behind me also took the turn.

After parking under a gigantic oak tree in the fading light, I walked inside, finding the place full of people. Couples talked around the bar, and families with kids ate casually at six or seven tables in the middle of the room. My eyes immediately fixed on two women sitting at a table against the far wall. They were leaning toward each other and talking intensely. As I made my way in that direction, I noticed a small table open beside them.

When I sat down, the younger of the two women glanced at me for a moment and then turned back to her friend.

"The First Integration," she said, "suggests there’s a way to keep the Synchronicity going. But I don't have all of the Document. More of these writings exist somewhere. I have to find them."

My energy surged again. Was she talking about the same Document? The woman speaking was wearing jeans and comfortable hiking shoes, and around her neck was draped a multicolored scarf. As she spoke, she kept pushing her blonde, tapered bangs behind her ears. I caught the faint scent of rose perfume.

As I watched her, I felt an odd attraction, which shocked me. She looked around instinctively and caught me staring, making deep eye contact. I quickly turned away. When I glanced back, a short, stocky man walked up to her table, surprising the two women and creating a round of smiles and hugs. The woman with the scarf gave him several typed pages, which he silently read. I pretended to look over the menu as I waited, sensing all the more that something important was happening.

"Why are you going to Arizona?" the man asked.

"Because it keeps coming to mind, over and over again," she replied. "I have to go with it."

I listened intently. All of the people at the table seemed to be at the same level of flow that I was.

"I have to understand why my mother contacted me," the woman continued. "These writings are going to tell me. I know it."

"So you’re leaving right away?" the man asked.

"Yes, tonight," she replied.

"Just follow your intuition," the man interjected. "Synchronicity seems to be happening for you. But be careful. Who knows who's looking for this information?"

I couldn't stand it any longer. I was about to say something to them when a large, muscular man at a table near mine mumbled, "What a crock!"

"W-w-what?" I stammered.

He nodded toward the women and whispered, "What they’re saying. What a bunch of bull!"

For a moment, I didn't know how to respond. He was tall and about forty- five, with unruly brown hair and a frown on his face, leaning toward me in his chair.

He shook his head. "This is going to be the death of our civilization, this kind of magical thinking."

Jeez, I thought, a skeptic. I didn't have time for this.

He was reading my face. "What? You agree with them?"

I just looked away, trying to hear what the woman was saying, but he scooted his chair closer.

"Intuition is a myth!" he said firmly. "It's been disproved many times. Thoughts are just nerve firings in the brain reflecting whatever you think you know about your environment. And Doctor Jung's crap about Synchronicity is just the act of seeing what you want to see in the random events of the world. I know. I'm a scientist."

He grinned slightly, seemingly pleased that he knew the origin of the theory of Synchronicity. I, on the other hand, was getting more irritated.

"Look," I said, "I'd rather not talk about it."

I turned to listen again but it was too late. The woman and her friends were up and walking toward the door. The skeptic gave me a smirk and then got up and walked out as well. I thought about following them but decided against it, concerned I'd look like a stalker or something. I sat back down. The moment had been lost.

What is particularly interesting is that there is a similar take on the coming few years between his work and THE WAKING GOD TRILOGY. Despite the economic, political, social and environmental chaos in the world, there may well be a LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.

COUNTDOWN TO THE TWELFTH INSIGHT

Hi everyone,
Is there a way to move into sync with the spiritual design of the universe, so that our lives go better? Are we discovering how to have more synchronicity, and more accurate intuitions, that can guide us through the challenges of our lives -- before they get bad -- and open up magical opportunities for our best dreams?

I believe a new, very exciting time is beginning in human history. I call it the 12th Insight. The Mayan Calendar calls it the Ninth Wave of Creation.

But whatever it is called, it is a new clarity about the nature of the universe, and how we, as individuals, can put spiritual knowledge into very practical application to find a higher path through life. Think about it. We been pursuing spiritual knowledge in a mass way for decades. And finally we've reached the clarity to put it into action, to live it every day!

The emerging Twelfth Insight represents a spiritual life that the best of every religious tradition has always held true, and that, in fact, points the way toward peace. There has never been a more exciting time to be alive. In spite of all our problems, this new awareness can be contagious, moving from person to person and can resolve everything. We just have to consciously share the truth of what we are doing. Remember, it's not the end times. We're just beginning. It's morning in the world!

I walked out of the airport and jumped into a car, heading for the first meeting with my publisher since The Twelfth Insight had been turned in – and I was feeling mildly anxious. The novel had already been set for publication (February 15, 2011) and they seemed to like the book very much. Still they had questions, and who could blame them?

For one thing, it had been a long time since I had published a new novel, and they wanted to know why it had taken so long.

"Give us a little perspective here," someone had asked me earlier. "The last time we had heard from you, you were slugging your way though LA with the Celestine Prophecy Movie. Did you really call Hollywood, Sodom and Gomorrah?" I had, of course, but it was in the heat of the moment.

Anyway, as I rode along in the New York traffic, I realized the issue over why I had taken so long was the easiest to handle. I could use my stock answer of, "I'm not making this stuff up."

The first three books in the Celestine Series – The Celestine Prophecy, The Tenth Insight, and The Secret of Shambhala—were as much spiritual commentaries as novels. And as such, they were based on real phenomena, what I have called "insights," that I felt were arising in human consciousness as shifts in awareness and understanding. I called them insights because that's how we experience them: as elevations of clarity about our spiritual nature. And over the years, they had been affirmed by millions of people.

In the first three novels I had pointed to eleven of these Insights, and had been waiting all this time, as were others, on what I was sure would be a culminating Twelfth. Yet, understandably, I had to be patient until events and experience corroborated the new insight. I had to see it before I could write about it.

While I waited, the only thing I knew for sure was that the Twelfth would build naturally on the insights that had occurred previously. That's how we know they are really shifts in consciousness. We recognize the upswing in spiritual clarity immediately.

For instance, the previous two insights that have happened, the Tenth and Eleventh, are instructive. The Tenth grew out of the discovery that spirituality was more than just an abstract decision to believe in God or not. (After which most tended to return to the same practical approach to life they'd used before the decision had been reached.)

However, the Tenth Insight confirmed that a step existed beyond mere belief, where one could knock on the door even more and be granted entry into a whole new world of spirituality that energized ordinary life. It was a world of Intuition and Synchronicity and memories of something our soul wanted to do in this life. In other words, it was a prevailing intuition that we come from a heavenly place to this Earth with a mission in our minds that is ours alone, and it's always something we can do to make the world better.

Thus, with the Tenth Insight came a certainty that the Afterlife existed as a real place, where souls weren't sitting on clouds with harps, but were actively pushing forward a plan of destiny for our Earthly culture. That was when interest in Angels and Near Death Experiences exploded in popularity, yielding a flood of books and movies on the subject.

Of course, the occurrence of the Tenth Insight quickly precipitated an Eleventh revelation: namely, that if we all had something important to do here, then the key issue was how exactly were we to get it done. What was the secret of the fulfilled life? The Eleventh addressed that issue—at least in part. We participate by allowing ourselves to be Synchronistically led toward it. To get it done, we had to use certain spiritual principles—principles that concerned "prayer," "attraction," and a power called "faith" that no religion or philosophy had yet described with sufficient clarity.

I was convinced even then that the full picture of how to actualize our dreams in this regard was what the Twelfth Insight would bring to us. But there was no way to force it. We would have to wait for the clarity. Maybe we even had to be tested for a while, and let the purely secular approach to life blow up a bit in a financial meltdown of greed and corruption before we could really take seriously the mysterious keys to life.

Suddenly, as my thoughts rolled on, the car in which I was riding swerved slightly and I realized the driver was staring at me in the rear view mirror.

"We are approaching your publisher's building," the driver said. "And I was wondering about your new book. What is it about exactly? How does it fit into all the crazy stuff that's happening right now?"

"Are you reading my mind?" I asked, chuckling.

He shrugged.

I just looked at him for a moment, knowing immediately that his interruption had created a moment of Synchronicity. This was another question the publisher's people were sure to have, and it was good one. How did this book, indeed, fit into the cynical flatness that seemed to be the tenor of the world right now?

Then the answer began to pour out of me. The Twelfth Insight is building on the need we all have to alter what looks like a rapid decline in human culture. Long-standing wars and political tensions didn't seem to be getting any better. Worse, those tensions, in all likelihood, appeared to be sliding toward an inevitable nuclear confrontation.

Just as problematic is the state of individual human relations, with everyday social encounters seemingly degrading to the level of a 24-hour Jerry Springer show. Most disgusting is politics. We had just suffered a double whammy when, after years of extreme greed and unsound economics, we were promised something more enlightened, and transparent, only to watch in horror as politics, especially in the US, degraded into an even worse display of back room shenanigans, corrupt payoffs, and a battle of lies.

Even in the face of tragic shooting of a US Congresswomen, the political left and right could only play the propaganda card, seeking even then to get a political edge—not because they thought their statements were the truth, but because they figured no one would notice they were untrue.

The driver's face was serious in the rear-view mirror as I tried to explain my theory that the level of inauthenticity, psychological manipulation, and transparent corruption has reached a tipping point. There is a unity emerging among a more idealistic center among us, a unity forged out of a shared abhorrence for the lack of integrity and civility.

And just as the lack of integrity is often rationalized by the belief that such behavior is okay because the universe is disordered and meaningless anyway, this growing, unified reaction is based on the perception that the opposite is actually the case—that there is a spiritual dynamic at work in the Universe, one that can be proved to oneself, and thus aligned with.

It is a sentiment that flows from the majority opinion that "what goes around, comes around," and "you reap what you sow," and from the idea that exists in some form in every religious tradition that, if one is honorable over little, one is given much.

What's more, the honoring and sharing of one's best truth, presented as directly as possible, seems to be the first key to unlocking the miraculous potential in the universe. Life is strange. It's almost as if the whole world has had to try the uncivil, manipulative way for a time—just to prove to ourselves how nasty things could get—before we could earnestly commit to the other side of the equation. In the end, living honestly is what triggers the laws of attraction, the power of prayer, and a life full of Synchronistic help.

The car jolted suddenly to a halt in front of the publisher's building and the driver smiled, apparently satisfied with my impromptu answer.

"Good luck," he said.

"Thanks for the practice time," I replied.

Inside, I sat around the table with all the publisher's staff, and discussed the same ideas, only we looked at the book from an even higher perspective, framing the unity against corruption and the emergence of a new spiritual sensibility as a world-wide phenomenon, a kind of "authentic spirituality" emerging from the best of the world's spiritual knowledge—yet respectful of the rich diversity of religious tradition.

"I think what the book needs," my publisher said at one point, nodding her head, "is a Countdown, where for a while before publication, you write something each week about the book to make your case, maybe even release a snippet of the first chapter."

Later, on the way out, someone else said, "You should make these articles off the cuff, just a day in the life of James Redfield—you know, what you're really up to in your life." His smile was contagious.

I thought for a moment about what such an honest, bare-bones screed might look like, then instantly remembered all the thoughts that had poured out of me on the trip across town, in part thanks to my driver.

"Okay," I said. "I can do that. After all, it's the first step into the Twelfth Insight."

Waking God is a deeply emotive experience. This book is technically fiction; it has a dynamic and intelligent plot, but it also reads more as a study in philosophy and religion, an unveiling of the harmful effects of dogma and the necessity of self-exploration in a world that makes it tempting to accept the moral codes handed to us (despite the often-illogical and contradictory rules that are attached). The basic quest here is the search for truth, the mastery of self and all the power each of us uses and misuses and herein, Brian L. Doe and Phillip K. Harris create a wholly engrossing story that will grab a reader and shake her, not telling her to think this or that, not preaching, but asking her what it is she really believes by engaging her in an this intense spiritual story. This is a book that will no doubt evoke a myriad of emotion from any reader, no matter religious belief or spiritual leaning, because it asks universal questions; questions that must be asked, especially in our current time. I say to any reader: buy the book, read it, loan it to a friend, discuss it, and brace yourself for the journey. Some books have the ability to alter a reader's view of the world if only by causing him to think about the human experience in a slightly different way, and this is one of those books. I look forward to the second installment: The Sacred Rota.

An Anthem For Our Times

Waking God has some very real people doing some powerful stuff to the universe.... And they are serious..And they are 'pissed.' Their world speaks to us with both the angry voice of prophesy and the ethereal sound of the interceding angels. ...It is biblical and other worldly with universal truths inside these pages applicable to all religions. Where iconoclastic hipsters make war and metaphysical, but non-religious intellects suddenly believe, this Waking God is not what it seems. As a Jew who never did understand what the difference was between--say, a Presbyterian or a Protestant, I initially felt like a cheerleader on the sidelines, but one who didn't understand the game, or whom to really root for. But around mid-way through this extraordinarily woven labyrinthine, I realized Waking God was talking directly to me with the language from the Bible. Though sometimes making argument that may be questionable to orthodox views, Waking God has such a spiritual undertone that, if you ask me, I would call this a moving, deeply religious work. Waking God is ultimately a thrill ride-- spellbinding, passionate and furious. One never knows who is going to survive the chapter. As a writer, I also must add that Harris' prose jumps off the page with visual and poetic clarity. It is a pleasure to read a real craftsman at work on a project he obviously so passionately believes.

Waking God was a good read the first time and even better the second time around. Why did I read it twice, because I enjoyed the story and there aren't many stories now-a-days that compel me to read them twice. That's the power of Phil Harris's and Brian Doe's ability to weave a complex metaphysical thriller into a believable and entertaining story that seems more truth than fiction. The universal truths in Waking God must be examined.

Is the book canonical, not necessarily, but then aren't the real truths hidden in some of the uncanonical works? Waking God is a wake up call for all of humanity. It is a philosophical and metaphysical work of fiction that will keep the reader turning pages and hoping for more to come. When you turn the final page you shall know the truth and it shall set you free.

I highly recommend Waking God and look forward to the next book in the series.

I am by no means an expert in astrology. However, in an entangled universe, it is clear that the inter-connectedness of ‘all’ things, physically, mentally and spiritually, give major credence that all heavenly bodies affect us all. It is of great interest that Ophiuchus appears at this time as a true zodiacal sign. Ahhh, enter the serpent and all of the wisdom that it brings. Religious dogma likes to demonize the serpent and to attribute to it evil qualities. But in mysticism, the serpent is wisdom, Sophia. The issue of the myth of good versus evil is a major topic in the WAKING GOD TRILOGY. Further, as we head towards 2012, it makes sense that the serpent should re-appear in the heavens to lead humanity to its ‘Second Coming.” And, while 12 may be the desired number, remember that 13 is the number that includes the Master. Energies are certainly shifting and the stars have much to tell us. Keep an open mind and embrace the wisdom that may soon manifest-if we choose wisely.

The following is basic information about the appearance of Ophiuchus:

The star doctors say Earth is currently in a different spot in relation to the Sun, and its equatorial alignment has changed from 3,000 years ago when the study of astrology began -- back when 12 zodiac signs were assigned to 12 different periods of the year.

Those signs you were born into are different now because the Earth's wobble on its axis has created a one-month bump in the alignment of the stars, according to Kunkle.

"Because of this change of tilt, the Earth is really over here in effect and Sun is in a different constellation than it was 3,000 years ago."

the sun was in Pisces on March 1, 2000 BC but it is in Aquarius on March 1, 2011 AD.”

the earth's axis has increased from the normal 23.5 degree tilt to a current tilt of 49.5 degrees. the website maintains that "It did not slip all at once. It has been a slow change over the past 20 years, but two of the most significant axial shifts occurred between Dec 4 and 6, 2006."

The constellation, Ophiuchus, has been known since ancient times, and is better known as Serpentarius, the Serpent Holder. It is included in the list of 48 constellations described by Ptolemy. Ophiuchus is depicted as a man handling a serpent; his body dividing the large snake into two parts, giving way to the symbol used today as an Asclepius - the medical staff. Astrologers have not included Ophiuchus in the wheel of Astrological signs because the Sun spends only about nineteen days in this 13th sign of the Mazzaroth. Not that there wasn't a 13th sign in the Heavens, but as far as Astrologers were concerned, the Sun traveled from the constellation 'Scorpius' and then proceeded directly into the sign of Sagittarius. In reality, this was not the case. The Sun, for 19 days of the year, travels through the star constellation 'Ophiuchus' before entering Sagittarius from Scorpius - see chart below. thus The sign of Ophiuchus is patterned after the original 'Serpent Holder', Enki, a Sumerian god.

The signs of the Zodiac are for the most part, the highway, or path on which the Sun takes it's yearly journey across the heavens - as it would appear to Earthlings. These signs are actually star constellations occupying space in which the Sun appears to travels in an earth year. The original twelve signs/constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces are quite familiar to everyone, however, the thirteenth sign and constellation, [Ophiuchus], is in fact, not well known. To acknowledge a 13th sign now would seem awkward for astrologers, who like the tidiness of 12 signs that rule over the 12 houses of the Zodiac. The heavens are alive and they do change after a few thousand years and the astrologer who wants to maintain accuracy must change along with the signs in the heavens.

The constellation of Ophiuchus is the only sign of the Zodiac which is linked to a real man. This man lived in ancient Egypt around the 27th century BCE, and his name was Imhotep [again patterned after Enki]. Many of the same attributes of Imhotep can also be found in the Biblical Hebrew man Joseph, son of Jacob - [see comparison chart for these two men in separate article]. Imhotep is credited with many accomplishments including the knowledge and use of medicine. It is said of Imhotep that he brought the art of healing to mankind. The symbol of a serpent [or snake], which is still widely used today to represent the medical profession, was used to represent Imhotep. Imhotep was also known as 'Aesclepius' to the ancient Greeks, but by any name the attributes are still all the same. The attributes listed below describe the Serpent Holder, Imhotep, i.e. the Hebrew Joseph, and Aesclepius. Waking God is a deeply emotive experience. This book is technically fiction; it has a dynamic and intelligent plot, but it also reads more as a study in philosophy and religion, an unveiling of the harmful effects of dogma and the necessity of self-exploration in a world that makes it tempting to accept the moral codes handed to us (despite the often-illogical and contradictory rules that are attached). The basic quest here is the search for truth, the mastery of self and all the power each of us uses and misuses and herein, Brian L. Doe and Philip F. Harris create a wholly engrossing story that will grab a reader and shake her, not telling her to think this or that, not preaching, but asking her what it is she really believes by engaging her in an this intense spiritual story. This is a book that will no doubt evoke a myriad of emotion from any reader, no matter religious belief or spiritual leaning, because it asks universal questions; questions that must be asked, especially in our current time. I say to any reader: buy the book, read it, loan it to a friend, discuss it, and brace yourself for the journey. The above was as of 1/7/11. More has happened including:

Over 100 birds were found dead along a California highway this past weekend, and thousands of dead fish were reported along Chicago's lakefront prior to that. A smaller incident of around 30 dead birds was also reported in Missouri.

Trying to downplay these incidents, we have seen all kinds of dumb reasons about the phenomena from fireworks and hail to this is nothing new.

Clearly, something is happening. A confluence of events is happening that will change the world forever. Not way off in the future, but now.

Dead Birds Fall From Sky AGAIN

Around 500 dead birds have fallen from the sky in Louisiana, found scattered along a quarter-mile portion of highway in Point Coupee Parish, the AP reports. The discovery is approximately 300 miles south of Beebe, Arkansas, where just days earlier thousands of the same species of birds also fell from the sky.
Initial tests conducted by biologists on the red-winged blackbirds and starlings found in Arkansas revealed that the birds suffered internal injuries that formed deadly blood clots. Countless explanations have been speculated, from intense high-altitude weather like lightning or hail to disturbance from fireworks. Disease and poison were determined to be far less likely causes, though full test results won't rule them out until next week.

Regardless of what may be tough economic times, tremendous opportunity and excitement will occur for those of us persuing an "Authentic Spirituality." First, we will see the Mayan Calendar become more understood as predicting, not doomsday, but a new wave of spiritual consciousness for Planet Earth. Why? Because more of us will begin to feel this consciousness in our personal lives, and consequently begin to live it visibly -- a phenomenon I've described as "The Twelfth Insight." The most exciting aspect of this phenomenon is that the reality and worth of this new consciousness can be proven to oneself every step of the way. First comes the reaction to the corruption, and a feeling of Unity with others standing against it. Then comes the realization that corruption and controlling come strictly from a lack of spiritual Connection. Then, as we begin to discover that a deeper Spirituality brings with it the intuition of the better world we want to create, something pops in our minds. We feel enlarged from within, not in Ego, but in Soul. And from there it is all upward. A flood of mysterious coincidences and guiding intuitions just prove the reality of what is happening to us even more, and we realize we're in the perfect place ourselves to do something specific to make things better, modeling this new consciously-guided life for all to see. The Georga Guidestones are located in Elbert County, Georgia, approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) east of Atlanta, and 9 miles (15 kilometers) north of the center of Elberton. The monument is situated on a rise a short distance to the east of Georgia Highway 77 (Hartwell Highway), and is visible from that road. Small signs beside the highway indicate the turnoff for the Guidestones, which is identified by a street sign as "Guidestones Rd."

The Georgia Guidestones are a huge granite monument located on a hilltop in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. It is sometimes referred to as the "American Stonehenge," a title that has been applied at times to a number of other structures, including Mystery Hill.

A message comprised of ten guides or commandments is inscribed on the monument in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient scripts.
The monument is almost twenty feet tall, and made from six granite slabs that weigh more than 100 tons. One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it.
A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned.
An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the monument, provides some clarifying notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

The stones are placed so that a slit at eye level in the central upright slab permits an observer to view the eastern horizon and aligns with the position of the rising sun at the Summer and Winter Solstices. Through the center stone, from south to north, a two-inch diameter hole is inclined at an angle of 34 degrees and points to the North celestial pole. A beam of sunlight passing through a hole in the capstone forms a spot of light below. The position of the spot can be used to determine high noon and the day of the year.
The eye-level, oblique hole is drilled from the South to the North side of the center, Gnomen stone, so that the North Star is always visible, symbolizing constancy and orientation with the forces of nature.
A slot is cut in the middle of the Gnomen stone to form a window which aligns with the positions of the rising sun at the Summer and Winter Solstices and at the Equinox, so that the noon sun shines to indicate noon on a curved line.
The cap stone includes a calendar of sorts, where sunlight beams through a 7/8 inch hole at noon, and shines on the South face of the center stone. As the sun makes its travel cycle, the spot beamed through the hole can tell the day of the year at noon each day. Allowances are made because of variations between standard time and sun time to set the beam of sunlight at an equation of time. The site was chosen because it commands a view to the East and to the West and is within the range of the Summer and Winter sunrises and sunsets. The stones are oriented in those directions.
History
The story behind the guidestones is as mysterious as the monuments themselves. In June 1979 a well dressed, articulate man walked into theoffice of the Elberton Granite Company in Elberton, Georgia and said that he wanted to know the cost of building a large monument to the conservation of humanity. He identified himself as Mr. R. C. Christian and said that he represented a small group of Americans who wished to remain anonymous.

Altough Elberton is considered the granite capital of the United States, the president of the granite company was skeptical of undertaking a project of this magnitude and very skeptical of the stranger in his office. He asked Mr. Christian to speak to the company's banker, Mr. Wyatt Martin, thinking that would be the last he saw of him.

However, Mr. Christian went to the bank and explained to Mr. Martin that although his name was a pseudonym with symbolic meaning, he and the group he represented were very serious about erecting these guidestones for, "the conservation of the world and to herald the coming age of reason. Should there be a holocaust in the civilized world, the group wished the guidestones to be one of the most enduring things to help humanity start anew.

Mr. Martin agreed to handle the funds and after an escrow account was set up, work began on the monument. Skilled workers quarried and cut the blocks, others sandblasted the message in 4" high letters, and still others hauled them to a hillside 7 miles north of Elberton where they were astronomically aligned with the North celestial pole, the noonday sun, and the rising and setting points of the sun and moon on the horizon.
A year after completion of the project the final correspondence arrived in Elberton from R. C. Christian and the group responsible for the guidestones. So far no one knows who this mysterious group is or why they felt compelled to erect the Georgia Guidestones and its message for mankind.

Controversy: A California man named John Conner has called for the Guidestones to be removed from public property saying they are an occult monument. He believes the name "R.C. Christian" is actually a reference to Christian Rosenkreuz, the supposed founder of the Rosicrucians, a secret society dating back to the 15th century.

The Message of the Georgia Guidestones A message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones. Moving clockwise around the monument from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian. The message in English reads:

Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule passion, faith, tradition, and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
Avoid petty laws and useless officials.Balance personal rights with social duties.
Prize truth, beauty, love, seeking harmony with the infinite.
Be not a cancer on the earth. Leave room for nature. Leave room for nature.

A shorter message appears on the four vertical surfaces of the capstone, again in a different language and script on each face. The explanatory tablet near the Guidestones identifies these languages/scripts as Babylonian Cuneiform (north), Classical Greek (east), Sanskrit (south), and Egyptian Hieroglyphics (west), and provides what is presumably an English translation: "Let these be guidestones to an age of reason."

Explanatory Tablet A few feet to the west of the monument, an additional granite tablet has been set level with the ground. This tablet identifies the monument and the languages used on it, lists various facts about the size, weight, and astronomical features of the stones, the date it was erected, and the sponsors of the project. It also speaks of a time capsule buried under the tablet, but the positions on the stone reserved for filling in the dates on which the capsule was buried and is to be opened are missing, so it is not clear whether the time capsule was ever put in place.

The tablet is with one edge to each of the cardinal directions, and is inscribed such that the northern edge is the "top" of the inscription.The complete text of the explanatory tablet is detailed below.

Nonduality is the philosophical, spiritual, and scientific understanding of non-separation and fundamental intrinsic oneness.
For thousand of years, through deep inner inquiry, philosophers and sages have came to the realization that there is only one substance and we are therefore all part of it. This substance can be called Awareness, Consciousness, Spirit, Advaita, Brahman, Tao, Nirvana or even God. It is constant, ever present, unchangeable and is the essence of all existence.
In the last century Western scientists are arriving at the same conclusion: The universe does indeed comprise of a single substance, presumably created during the Big Bang, and all sense of being - consciousness - subsequently arises from it. This realization has ontological implications for humanity: fundamentally we are individual expressions of a single entity, inextricably connected to one another, we are all drops of the same ocean.

What is nonduality, anyway?

There are many shades of meaning to the word nonduality. As an introduction, we might say that nonduality is the philosophical, spiritual, and scientific understanding of non-separation and fundamental oneness.
Our starting point is the statement “we are all one,” and this is meant not in some abstract sense but at the deepest level of existence. Duality, or separation between the observer and the observed, is an illusion that the Eastern mystics have long recognized and Western science has more recently come to understand through quantum mechanics.
Dualities are usually seen in terms of opposites: Mind/Matter, Self/Other, Conscious/Unconscious, Illusion/Reality, Quantum/Classical, Wave/Particle, Spiritual/Material, Beginning/End, Male/Female, Living/Dead and Good/Evil. Nonduality is the understanding that identification with common dualisms avoids recognition of a deeper reality.

So how can we better understand nonduality?

There are two aspects to this question, and at first glance they appear to be mutually exclusive, although they may be considered two representations of a single underlying reality.
The first aspect is our understanding of external reality, and for this we turn to science. The word science comes from the Latin scientia, which means knowledge. The beauty and usefulness of science is that it seeks to measure and describe reality without personal, religious, or cultural bias. For something to be considered scientifically proven, it has to pass exhaustive scrutiny, and even then is always subject to future revision. Inevitably human biases creep in, but the pursuit of science itself is intrinsically an evolving quest for truth. But then quantum mechanics turned much of this lauded objectivity on its head, as the role of the observer became inseparable from the observed quantum effect. It is as if consciousness itself plays a role in creating reality. Indeed, the two may be the same thing. As quantum pioneer Niels Bohr once put it: “A physicist is just an atom's way of looking at itself!”
The second aspect is our inner, personal experience of consciousness, our “awareness of awareness.” We have our senses to perceive the world, but “behind” all perception, memory, identification and thought is simply pure awareness itself. Eastern mystics have described this undifferentiated consciousness for thousands of years as being the ultimate state of bliss, or nirvana. Seekers have attempted to experience it for themselves through countless rituals and practices, although the state itself can be quite simply described. As Indian advaita teacher Nisargadatta Maharaj said: “The trinity: mind, self and spirit, when looked into, becomes unity.”
The central challenge to understanding nonduality may be that it exists beyond language, because once it has been named, by definition -- and paradoxically -- a duality has been created. Even the statement “all things are one” creates a distinction between “one” and “not-one”! Hardly any wonder that nonduality has been misunderstood, particularly in the West.
BEYOND THE “I”… the end of the seeker
Many of us have been “seeking” for most of our adult life. We have gone through many practices, spiritual paths and teachers only to discover that our pain and suffering did not disappear or even diminish.
It seems agreed upon by spiritual masters of all traditions that the main reason for our suffering is the identification with the “I” and the way to dissipate this pain is to merge with what is beyond the “I”, to merge the looker with what is looked at. Science, on the other hand, can help us to understand how we construct and experience the “I”, as well as the states beyond it.

10-10-10: Look Before You Leap

More and more people are becoming convinced that we are perched on a precipice, a tipping point, a convergence, an approaching singularity, a break from the old into the new. Back at the start of the year I posted this poll question: "With which prediction do you more agree? 1. 10/10/10 (October 10th 2010) is going to be a very significant date for our planet. Or 2. 10/10/10 will be an unremarkable day."

In March we discussed the results of this poll in an entry called "Will 10-10-10 Be Significant?".

Now, as we're only ten days away from this curious date, I'd like you to think about setting aside a moment at the tenth hour, tenth minute, tenth second, on the tenth day of the tenth month in the tenth year of the century, to contemplate how much has changed, and how different our lives are now from ten years ago. Is your life better or worse now? Regardless of your evaluation, change is a significant part of our lives, more so all the time.

Nova Spivack has been talking lately about "The Now" becoming an increasingly dense and increasingly narrow focus in our collective experience. I've talked before about Nova's groundbreaking work in the semantic web and providing tools to help us navigate through the potentially overwhelming Stream of information entering our lives. Is the amount of information in the world really doubling at an exponential rate? Read this article featuring Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who says we are currently creating an amount of information every two days that equals the entirety of information created from the dawn of civilization until 2003!

How much longer can we keep up this acceleration? Where is this acceleration taking us? My song "The End of the World" suggests that people have always been suggesting that something significant is just about to happen, and in my book and this blog I've played with the idea that Everett's Many Worlds allows for the possibility that there are parallel worlds where those people turned out to be right, they're just not the version of the universe we currently happen to find ourselves in.
